If you like the olive, you might like their ash color also. It's become my go-to color for Kuiu gear. The pics on their site make it look way too brown. In actuality, it's much more on the green side IMO.
These pics of the Divide look pretty accurate color-wise...
I can't speak to changes, but I recently bought a pair of Crispi Kenai (same as Nevada, but with top grain leather) and I would not call them wide at all. I have an average foot and they fit great.
FYI - I responded to 400's partner request via PM several months ago and we hit it off. We live about 10 min from each other and share similar personalities/traits/interests so hopefully this turns out to be an awesome friendship. Plans for Montana next year have already begun. Having hunted...
Your brand choice is up to you - there are lots of good options - but style is most important IMO. By style I mean whether it's a clip-on or hinge style release.
Hinges are GREAT for training and practice, but I wouldn't hunt with one. Hinges only have a hook so you'll never be able to clip...
The best thing I've found for TP is:
1, Draw, but DON'T shoot.
a. Draw, focus on form, use a BIG point of aim (make it really easy), hold for ~1min, then let down.
2. Repeat these dry runs until the urge to punch the trigger are gone.
a. This happens pretty quickly because the mind stops...
Good point on sound; I've found that it depends on which binos I'm using with my FHF. My Nikon's are pretty quiet, but my Kowa's squeak pretty bad. Not sure if it's due to a different rubber compound or that the Kowa's are a tighter fit...or maybe a little of both.
Lots of good info here.
Don't forget to bring a rain cover for your backpack or you'll be hauling around a lot of water weight. They only cost $20-30 on Amazon. No need for an expensive one.
The "buy once, cry once" mantra is great, but IMO isn't a good approach for people just starting their hunting journey; and certainly not when funds are limited. I say this because when you're first starting out, you really don't know what works (for you) and what doesn't. You might buy an...
I think you made a really good choice. IMO the value you get from Kuiu packs is hard to beat. I just bought an EXO K3 4800 (no use yet) and I'm sure it'll be awesome, but I'm also certain that my Kuiu 3600 will get more use than the EXO. The KUIU is a better day pack IMO and I really like the...
I have Renegade and Radikl styles. The Radikl are my favorites for the stretch panels. Both are lightweight pants so they aren't intended for construction. Kuhl does make heavy duty pants if you need them.
Kuhl would be my choice. They're not as stretchy as the original Prana's, but I find the fit and function to be much better for daily wear. I really like the side phone pocket. The button/snap thing is my only gripe.
