How does Meindl stack up?

I picked up the Perfekt Hikers this year and couldn't be happier. Wore them through almost constant rain during deer season over a mix of sharp talus and low, soaked brush, through the swampy conditions while not seeing elk in November, and on a couple hike up/mt. bike down trips in September...

Recommend a tarp for backup/emergency shelter

I carry a silnylon Maccat Deluxe from OES for covering my hammock. We've used it on several hikes as a shelter to eat or play cards under during a downpour and it's kept us dry. Not quite as light as cuben fiber, but half the price and still at or under a pound. The 4-season or rectangular...

Need some help choosing a Tikka T3

Put my vote down for the 7mm mag. I'm in a similar boat - one universal light weight rifle for everything. Always had good luck with availability of the round, only a buck or so more than 30-06 for a box, and plenty of loads to choose from. The T3 lite stainless is next on my list, so I can't...
