Does anybody have any experience with the Traditions Vortek LDR muzzleloaders? I'm considering upgrading from my 03' vintage Rem 700 ML. I like the concept of the Vortek LDR with the 30" barrel. I am subject the traditional rules or OR but this gun seems to be a decent fit for accommodating...
I think overall, the 2.0 is an improvement. As mentioned by Oz Bow, the new tall buttons need some work. I notice the buttons low on the pant leg used for rolling up the pants dig in to my knees when I kneel. I simply cut them off and done deal! Other than that, they added stretchiness is nice.
I should have read this before I asked some scope questions! These are both the scopes that interest me. I have the same stock on my 300 Win and love it! My current build I opted for the A3 Sporter with edge fill but nearly went with the same stock again! it doesn't make much sense to change...
I have the Z5 3.5 -18 X 44 on my 300 Win. I'm sorry but I don't have my data handy. I believe my 180 Accubond is at about 2980 FPS (200 yd zero with 26" barrel, 10 shot avg. through chronograph) and has the Outdoorsman custom turret on it. I run out of turret at 725 yds. I have enjoyed this...
Thank you so much to all who responded. It is very much appreciated. As everybody knows, these new gun projects tend to go over budget every time so I am trying to do my homework and buy something I like the first time. I have a Swaro Z5 on my 300 Win and do like the scope and can't find a bad...
I am researching new scopes for a 28 Nosler. I hadn't considered the Leupold line much until I saw the vx-6 in the 3-18 X 50. Does anybody use one and what are you thoughts on clarity, dependability etc.? I have used plenty of Leupold products over the years but have eventually gravitated to...
Tripods are like backpacks for me! Seems I'm always searching for the perfect one and constantly making changes. This year I have settled on a combo that is my favorite to date. I am using the Pro Master XC525c with the Outdoorsmans pan head. So far, it seems to be a wonderful combination of...
Hi all,
I'm pretty new to the forum. This is by far the best hunting forum that I have seen due to participation and knowledge of users. I enjoy all types of big game hunting and spend the better part of my free time preparing for hunts, applying for hunts, researching hunts, getting in shape...
I'm a little late to this party but I drew 111-113 late. I put my dad in for some opportunity hunts and he drew 35 north of Winnemucca. I'm planning on scouting for dad's hunt soon. He is getting older so I hate to miss an opportunity to take him hunting. If my scouting turns up anything decent...
