I only carry spares of things that I think: “If I lose this, the hunt is over” (within reason of course)
Optics? I can see without them
Boots? I can walk barefoot
Knife? I cant skin a deer with a rock
Release? Can’t draw my bow without it

These guns were typically finished “in the white” meaning that they cleaned the metal then left it. No bluing or browning.
However, a good look is to progressively file/sand the metal to a polished appearance. Then apply a cold blue solution and rub it back with a very fine scotch brite pad...
I would avoid a Stoeger. They’re ok but they don’t hold up well long term. I’ve seen a lot of firing pin/striker issues and many stocks crack on these guns after light use
I would look for a used browning or beretta. May be a little more expensive but they’re solid guns and will last a lifetime.
Fort Collins. Your quality of life will be much better. Restaurants, bars, parks, public land access, fishing, activities, crime rate, vicinity to Denver, etc are all better in Fort Collins. There’s a reason everyone from Cheyenne and Laramie come down to Fort Collins on the weekends.
