Is anyone sending a tooth (teeth) to Matson's this year? I shot a Mulie this year that showed signs of being pretty old and on the way down, but it could just be he was eating rocks and cactus. I'd be interested in getting him aged but I'm not interested enough to spend $75 on it. I was...
Original Paul Schafer Silvertip and Snuffer broadheads this morning. Went maybe 50 yards on a death sprint and was down in 10 seconds. Blood trail 8 ft wide.
although I didn't see Grizzly Stix on here, the chart ill give you the aluminum I.D. you are looking for.

I shoot a weather rest on my Silvertip because it was designed to be used with one and that's the way it came to me. Everything else I either have a home made feather rest or if it's a self bow I'll shoot directly off the shelf or my knuckle.
I'm a 3 blade guy and have been for years. If I ever run out of Snuffers I have some Woodsman sitting here waiting to get in the game. For those worried about the hiss of death, the animal doesn't hear that till it's past them or it's too late. That said I've considered the the solid VPAs. I may...
Wow I must be doing something wrong. I've been shooting trad exclusively for 25+ years now, shooting thousands of arrows a year, and not once have I felt I "wore out" a string. I was just shooting my Silvertip (Original Paul built) and I guarantee that string is over 10 years old and has...
Opening day NY. Shot this dumb one with a 28 ga with regular old lead 6s. That completes my sweep of all available gauges. 410,28,20,16,12, and 10. Now if anyone has an old side lock MZ shotgun for sale PM me please.
Thinking back, close to 30 trad kills have all come with either old Bear Greenies with bleeders or the old Rothhaar Snuffers. Mostly Snuffers. I do have some original Woodsman heads that are scary sharp and fly like darts, but I keep going back to the Bears or Snuffers.
Maybe you should beat them at their own game and start a "small business" so you can take those losses on your taxes. I think all you would need to do is film a hunt or 2 and post them on YT as a contributor and get a couple bucks for your effort. Then you could write off all your fun purchases...
IMO, no. The thrill of turkey hunting for me is seeing how close I can get them, not shooting them at distances you need a ballistics calculator for. I'd opt for a load of steel 4s and call them in close. YMMV.
I can tell you from personal experience stay away from those Vmax. They shoot very well, but are made to turn prairie dogs into red mist. They will make you cry if you shoot them for fur though.
I've shot the Berger 25 gr varmint for years out of my 17 Remington at about 4000fps. As said previously, glancing or bone shots will explode on contact, but a solid hit in the boiler room rarely results in an exit even on fox. I process my own fur and on fox I usually only find fragments of...
