Thanks for the quick response. Obviously I’m new to this. I do have a side focus on my VX3i. Is there a reason for 2? Also doesn't the focus make the reticle clearer or is more like a focus on a set of binoculars?
All, I have a VX3i scope. I just noticed the eyepiece was loose when I was tinkering around. It started to loosen and a twist to the right put it back in place. Is this normal? Attached a picture of the area I am talking about.

Thanks. Im thinking of two ways:
1) grind a slot accross the screw and hope I can get a flathead in there to back the screw out.
2) grind the entire head off so the “keeper” is released (then I can take the base off) and then back The thread out if I plan to keep the rings but im fairly certain...
I think im going to grind a slit across the width of the head and try to get a flathead in there. Not sure what else to do at this point. Heres a picture of the screw as is. This one came out with no issues
