Ahh, that would make sense. Thanks

Never heard of this. What states won’t allow 6.5 that allow a .308?

    First hunting rifle considerations

My first and second white tail rifles were tikkas. The first being a T3 Lite in .308 which took a great many white tail in MS and AL. These days I’m using a 30-06 in a Tikka T3X Lite SS so I can have more of a do-all North American rifle (deer, bear, elk, etc.). If I were just hunting white...

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Throw in a sad voice and some puppy dog eyes and most wives will say yes! I learned it from my 2 year old and it works quite well 👍🏻

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Well I stopped by the shop today. To make a long story short, I left with a new bow. The shop had a PSE Brute Force LT for sale at what I felt was a good price. I was able to get out the door for $550 which kept me around my budget and got a lighter, newer, and more ergonomic bow (for me). I’ll...

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Unfortunately I just checked their used section. Only had some extremely old bows, a Hoyt CRX 35 that did not fit me, a Matthew’s Z7 that needed a cam replaced, and a used Bear Trace. If they can’t fix my Outback, I’m either going to have to buy from Bass Pro, Online, or get a PSE Brute from my...

Idaho Black Bear Tags Explained - NR

Going in Spring 2025. Found 3 spots in what seems to be a good unit. Going to spend about 5 days backpacking. Probably last week of May or first week of June depending on snow. Currently stocking up on gear I’ll need.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Looks like a nice bow, but surprisingly I don't have a bow shop in the area that is a Bear dealer. Doesn't look like Bass Pro carries this model either.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Sounds like there is a lot of support for either buying a high end bow that is used, or just paying whatever it cost to repair the Outback. I'll see what the pro shop says in a couple of hours and check out their used selection as well as some offers on here. I appreciate everyone's feedback...

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Any particular models I should look into? I get a bit lost in how many models of bows are out there over the past 5 years. Let alone the past 10 years.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Sounds like it will jump up over $300 once I factor in the actual labor of the repair and that is assuming nothing else is broken. I'll still bring it by the pro shop just in case it is not as bad as I am thinking it is, but it sounds like I will be buying a new bow.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

How old of a bow would you consider? When I bought my Outback I did not realize how old of a model it was. It shot great, but I don't think I would want to buy something that old again.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Anything in specific I should look for on used bows? When I bought my Matthews Outback I was pretty much at the mercy of the pro shop since I am still pretty new to bows.

Repair Old Bow or Buy New Bow

Well, I dry fired my Matthews Outback Friday night. I made the mistake of talking on the phone while shooting and got distracted. Next thing you know I forgot to nock and arrow and shot. I know at a minimum I am going to be replacing the string and cables. I think I will be need a cam...

Bear Defense Sidearm for Small Hands

Based on the feedback I’ve decided to pick up a Glock 23. Reasons being: - general consensus is it’s better to use premium lead hard cast bullets in a smaller caliber I shoot quick and proficiently rather than something I can’t reliability shoot fast and accurate - .40 being a little more than...

That’s pretty shocking, but makes me feel better about considering not bumping up to the 10

Bear Defense Sidearm for Small Hands

I may have to get one of those for my G45 just to try out. Based on some of the feedback from others, I think I am going to either run my G45 since I am already proficient with it or grab a .40 cal to get a slight bump up.

Bear Defense Sidearm for Small Hands

That seems to be the most recurring feedback. May do that or pick up the G22 to get a slight bump up. It would be nice to not have to change holsters and relearn to shoot new grip angles and triggers.
