Myself and 5 other buddies have put in for years now and not drawn. A couple of the guys are Ky residents too. It’s worth a shot though considering the entry fee is cheap. We usually enter multiple times for each tag offered.

I purchased a couple meals and quite a few packaroons for an upcoming elk hunt. I haven’t tried the meals yet but I had to reorder the packaroons as they were excellent and my family and I have already eaten them ha ha! I’ll respond after trying the chili but the fact that the company is...
I’m from the Alabama Gulf Coast, it doesn’t get much flatter! I’ve hunted Co the last two years and have been lucky enough to fill my tag both years. My first year I was worried about fitness, altitude, gear, water and the list goes on. My advice is get in as good as shape as you can and go...
We’ve hunted Southern Co 1st rifle for a couple years. Year before last we didn’t hear any bugles but some hunters we ran into had heard a ton. Last year they were bugling all week.

I agree 100%. Being mentally prepared is a huge part of the trip for me. I worried about the physical aspect of the hunt when I started going out west but quickly found out being mentally prepared was just as important. I’m a flat lander from the Gulf Coast of Alabama so, I can’t replicate...
Same story here... my buddy and I didn’t draw but there were left overs in the unit we’ve hunted the last couple of years. He was in CA and I was in AL neither one of us we’re able to get in until
9:22 by then they were gone. Is it the same crap shoot standing in line? I’m a NR but thought...
I’ve got an X2 and a Blue Widow, my buddy that elk hunts with me has The Team Elk. The X2 is a decent pack but I use it mainly for tree stand hunting. I’m 6’0 with extremely broad shoulders and the X2 was small for me. I’ve packed three bulls out with my blue widow. It handled the load well but...
I've done both and both have pros and cons. My buddy and I flew to Utah two years ago and drove to Co last year. In Utah we rented a furnished cabin near our hunting area so, our gear was minimal for that trip. We rented a small AWD SUV but were still limited due to ground clearance. In Co we...
Yes!
I do work out at least five days a week and enjoy it. I run 1-2 miles a day and have a weight training regime. I'm 37 and lost 54lbs last year in perpetration for a DIY Colorado hunt. I've managed to keep the weight off despite drinking enough to keep my guns in shape!
We used the planning services that Colorado offers. The first gentleman we spoke with asked what type of hunt we were looking for and we told him we wanted to get away from the crowds so, we took his recommendations on units and areas in those units to focus our scouting. We only saw 3 other...
My buddy and I had been planning our second elk hunt since we left the mountains of Utah two years ago. Last year his wife was expecting a new edition to their family and my wife and I were building a house. So, our second elk hunt had to be postponed until this year. I began prep for the hunt...
I have a couple pairs of the 1403s as well and I love them. I wore them last year in Utah on an Elk hunt and they were awesome. A little light for tree stand hunting but great if you're moving.
