Does anybody who bought a CRF-Pro have more to report back now that we’re deeper into hunting season?
I’m looking hard at this since the instant EHR seemed to fix the one complaint Leicas typically received but some of the quality issues sound concerning.
I was pretty much down to this and the...
I 100% agree with a lot of the above about putting pressure on yourself and practicing hunting scenarios but I think that’s after you have a foundation built. In my opinion you have to shoot groups to get better and understand how consistent your shot is.
A lot of the year, I prioritize tight...
@buffybr those are some epic pictures! As someone on the younger side, I always love the older photos showing guys getting it done without all the gear and technology we have today
Made a Bolognese with venison for the first time last week and it came out very good. Pretty much the same process as any bolognese of which there are plenty of recipes on the internet. I didn't freeze any this go around but it strikes me as something that would freeze very well.
I would say...
Has anyone ordered Sheep Feet using the new method where you use your phone to take scans of your feet? Even better if you can compare the end product versus the previous iteration where you took molds of your feet. I've been considering trying these for a while but am more skeptical of the new...
From someone who really struggles with proper boot fit due to heel slippage, I would echo the comments above on focusing on fit first. I finally settled on the Crispi Colorados and have used them for a couple years here in VA hunting in the hills/mountains and used them in the breaks in Montana...
Complete beginner when it comes to backpacking but have been acquiring the necessary equipment and planning to gain some experience to expand my hunting opportunities in the future.
I plan on starting out using a footprint and one question I've had that I haven't been able to find an answer to...
Lesser known brands and/or less hyped/marketed brands generally have worse resale value so consider that. If you plan to keep for the long haul, you can probably get a 1-year old or even used current year flagship from Elite, Prime, Darton, etc. for what you may pay for an older Hoyt or Mathews.
Once you get even pretty decent at tuning your own equipment you’ll wonder how you ever trusted anyone to do it and I found I have a lot more confidence in my setup.
Lots of good videos on YouTube to get you started. The BowOnly guy offers a course if you’re looking for something more...
I know it's not what you asked for but you could always buy landowner tags that allow you to hunt public. Obviously spending that money, I understand the desire to be on private and that being your dad's first hunt you're hoping to maximize opportunity for success but it is an option.
Either is fine for whitetails with your setup. You seem to have a lot of confidence in the exodus (as many of us on here do) and if your bow is already tuned for them then it may make sense to just rock those. If you can tune to the point that both have the same POI then throw both in your...
4.5mm is intriguing, although keeps you captive to UV for components for time being
The vanes look great
Nice marketing video
Hilariously expensive
I won’t be buying
I can’t imagine these are really any superior to existing high end shafts given manufacturing is done by Victory. If they are...
Unless you’re talking about flying, I think you’re overthinking this. Broadheads stay on dedicated hunting arrows and stay in my quiver pretty much all season. They ride in a separate pocket of my soft case to stay separated from my bow. I’ve also had a hard case and I would just keep the quiver...
Don’t use ladder stands much anymore but we used to buy in bunches and then spray paint “camo” with leftover cans we had laying around. It definitely seemed to make a difference with rust and how they held up.
The club I belong to uses Rinehart targets and they take a beating pretty well and inserts are easy to replace. Apple buck is fun to shoot but they have a lot of different deer targets that all seem equally well made (including mule deer ones if that’s what you’re after).
