I have one and like it alright for what it is. I’ll be interested to see the mapped out reticle. Scopeguard Alaska was able to make me a cover that fit well for it.
What I really want is something like the SFWA 2.5-10 x 32 Ultralight with a mil dot reticle and a low profile zero stop mil turret...
I haven’t tried the UM, but I did order 500 of the GAP 109 ELDMs. According to Form they act just like other ELDMs terminally on game, but have a better BC since they are basically A-Tips with polymer instead of aluminum tips.
Or you can look at rifleshooter.com for real world data to pull from. You can see that the 6mm looses a bit more than the traditional 25 FPS per inch in the shorter lengths, but like I said above, even at 16” it’s still plenty effective out to 500 yards with 2000FPS at impact...
The 4th post in on this thread Weldor said “My Seekins Element 21" suppressed with Hornady factory ELD-X 103 gr. is 2883 from my Labradar.”
That would give you a 2000 FPS impact velocity out to 675 yards. He was using ELDX but I imagine the ELDM is close.
That takes you out to 800 yards with 2000 FPS impact.
I’m trying to be honest with myself, knowing that a 16” barrel out to 500 yards is plenty for my current short and handy build, but It’s tempting to let design creep sneak in, and add a few more inches of barrel “just in case”. It takes...
Depending how far you’re comfortable letting your daughter shoot, I wouldn’t be afraid of going for a shorter barrel with a can. Given the real world velocities above I calculated the following ballistics with the 108 ELDM at 5000’ elevation:
16” = 2660 muzzle velocity gives 2000 FPS impact at...
Including the optic I was able to get mine down to 6lb 1oz with the barrel fluting and a slightly flexy polymer airsoft stock that I milled a slot in for the bolt to slide. It weighs 5.5lb without the microprism optic. The Sig fore grip adds 3oz to that. Still looking for a better optic and a...
I’m curious about some of the other Sightron stuff now. Any experience with the Sightron S1 1.75-5x32mm G2? I’m wondering if it’s any good, or if it’s just a rebranded Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x32. What else is there in lightweight/large FOV category? Certainly not the SFWA 2.5-10, that unobtanium.
I installed his mag release, much better than factory. I can release the mag one handed now, without reaching inside the trigger guard. I also just had my barrel fluted, which shaved 4.4oz.
A cut up shower shoe and some self stick bandage wrap makes a nice cheek riser for the Kidon stock. Used tin snips to rough cut the foam and an angle grinder to smooth and shape it.
Makes sense why you prefer the NF. Would you ever opt for the 6 bolt instead of the 4 bolt NF rings, or is it overkill? What are your thoughts on the ARC M-Brace rings vs the NF?

Form’s post still says, “Also on another scope eval, a base screw broke on a set of PMR rings”. Does anyone know which eval that was and if there a pictures?
