6.5 PRC comes ALIVE with VV powder

I am. Initial pressure tests and velocities with 143gr ELD-X in the screenshot below. Progression was 52gr (shot 1) to 55gr (shot 7) in .5gr increments. As others have said the VV load max of 53.4gr is pretty vanilla; I did not get any indications of pressure and will be extending the loads up...

    New LandCruiser

Same with Australia; damn near every one of them is tricked out and ready for time in the outback. It’s like an entire continent decided to have awesome 4x4 culture.

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

+1 for “Form Fridays” or a similar format with SMEs for a 15-20 minute Ted Talk on practical application or data-based myth busting. This is a sustain. @Ryan Avery - question for Ace: We have CF barrels to fill a niche alongside steel barrels. What is the next logical step in metallurgical or...

How long before getting a new dog

I’ve been kicking this around as well. Lost my buddy in early February but my youngest daughter had that special kid bond that makes you grit your teeth when it happens. We talk about it a lot and I think there isn’t a “right” answer. I’ll probably start looking towards summertime. I’ve always...

How do I teach my dog to pick up sheds?

Washington State - best areas near Seattle?

Some of it will depend on budget and your desired quality of life. Like others have said the crime/drugs/homeless/traffic problem is huge. On the upside the schools are good, outdoor life is exceptional, and there is a pile of things to do with two major mountain ranges, the Puget Sound, sand...

Wireless Ethernet 'Bridge' - anyone with experiences?

Ubiquiti for the third recommendation. Use one of their medium or long-range systems (small dish or similar) to get it to your house and then pipe it into your local router 👍

    Favorite Game bird Recipe

Mesquite and maple or hickory and white oak are my two favorite combos. I don’t recall which one was used for the duck, we smoked about 218lbs of meat between that last week of duck season and Super Bowl weekend. Priceless handle/screen name @dr.mooseknuckles 🤣

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Running 77gr SMK Black Hills factory loads for practice and getting 2,882fps with factory 22” barrel, I imagine the Black Hills TMK load would have similar velocity.

    7prc load question

Those loads don’t look bad, like others have said loading 10+ rounds and shooting either for a single group would give you a better sample size. Something else to consider. It would be worth measuring your mag well and max COAL to figure out if you can seat your bullets longer for your specific...

    Favorite Game bird Recipe

Super simple: 1/2 gallon of water, half cup of coarse salt and about a dozen or so peppercorns. Should easily do 10-12 birds worth of breasts. If you use regular or fine table salt, cut it down to 1/4 cup. Stir it up a bit and put it all in a ziplock bag or in a bowl with a lid and leave it...

    Favorite Game bird Recipe

I’ve been a sucker for overnight brine and smoking duck breast brushed with a little apple juice towards the end and served as an appetizer with fresh bread for a long time. This is from some teal from the last hunt of the season a few weeks ago. I usually crock pot turkey to soften it up...

Put Some Thought into your first aid kit

Glad the OP made it out ok, everyone earns an experience like that or worse if you keep at it long enough. Not to be overlooked…wound packing gauze. Also not to be overlooked…common sense knife handling: keep it out of the triangle between your “plumbing” and knees. Things get real in a...

    Whats missing on your bench?

How would you compare it to the Ingenuity Powder System? I’m doing the math on annealer and powder system upgrades at the moment. If you haven’t seen the Ingenuity kit yet, here’s the link: Ingenuity Powder System

    Bozeman

For some perspective, when I was a kid my dad liked to grab lunch at the Rockin’ R Bar on the way through town, which still had brass spittoons on the floor and the clientele was mainly cowpokes and college kids. Met up with my cousin for lunch before I flew out from a hunt this last...

Dillon super swage 600 Amp annealer 800 yard private range out the nearest door RL26 One I’ll have next week, one I’ll have by the end of the year, one I’ll have in two years when I retire, and one might as well be on the FBI’s most wanted list because it will be found randomly four years from...

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Fed 215M primers No doubt on your load recommendation. The load that is working the best for accuracy/velocity is 57.8gr of H1000 but my velocity is ~100fps less than what you are getting. I’m also at ~500’ MSL which has some negative effects.
