    Texas Plinking 300/338 Lapua fail

Interesting to see what different people do for pre-shot routines and how they make adjustments. Couple of those guys were having a helluva time working the bolts.

Anyone know what cheek riser this is or similar

Edit: thought the reference was for Voodoo option I’ve had a few kydex ones from Matthews Fabrication that basically weigh nothing and are fully adjustable. Wouldn’t hesitate to put one on a new rifle. https://matthewsfabrication.com/product/adjustable-kydex-cheek-rest/

How do you celebrate the 4th of July?

Spent a few days in DC with my youngest, going through Smithsonian exhibits, talking her through the various memorials, and finished with Arlington this morning to visit some friends. Grilled all afternoon at a family friend’s place and watched the show. Oldest daughter was in Normandy today...

6.5 PRC comes ALIVE with VV powder

Not really. I loaded 10x with each powder at 58.5gr to take out tomorrow and shoot for groups at 100/600. N565 had a bit more speed but I don’t know if it was a fluke or not. They both were still pretty gentle loads to shoot and didn’t hit pressure using ADG brass. I did load two more with N565...

6.5 PRC comes ALIVE with VV powder

I just ran a side by side with H1000 and N565 with federal LRP and MLRP, they were close all the way through with both powders. Both loads with 58.5gr had more velocity with magnum primers.

Question - can anyone point me to studies of lead vs copper bullets on game?

@rifletuner I think somewhere in the infamous “.223 for bear, elk, deer” thread, there were a number of studies posted specific to bullet construction. You’d have to dig through the first 100 or so pages but I’m pretty sure it’s in there and the debate was derived from match vs copper bullets...

.300 Win 200 grain, Ballistic Charts not adding up please help.

@Ahugemuledeer some additional questions: Did you zero your turret after zeroing your rifle? What ballistic calculator are you using? Are you inputting G1 or G7 values? Where are you pulling atmospheric/environmental data from? Getting 3000+ fps out of a 24.3” Tikka barrel with factory Federal...

If we’re throwing out random jobs that help people, at least get paid well… The low end of national mean salary for a radiologist is $400k on 37 hours/week X-ray tech certification pays a national mean of $102k on 28 hours/week Project Managers with PMP certificate make $128k average to start...

    A little lost… career change?

You ever hear the saying “Good, cheap, or fast, you can have two but not all three.” Careers are similar but the triangle is more like “Well compensated, fulfilled, or flexible” If I were on the younger end, I would take well compensated and flexible, accumulating enough wealth to be in the...

Question - can anyone point me to studies of lead vs copper bullets on game?

Ask any duck hunter if they are the same. I think everyone is surprised that the commonwealth lets a prison colony have arms to begin with. (Joking, I’m in WA every year and have many good friends there 😉) I would imagine a similar argument is being made about lead causing irreversible...

I did powerlifting as a teen and young lad, then CrossFit for a long time. I don’t think the majority of CF gyms program very well for measurable improvement, so after a while I started putting together my own regiments with more focus on mobility. Takes a bit more work but worth it to me...
