I tried about 4 different areas of Cache Creek this summer and only saw one spike. I did have a forky on the side of Hopland grade that was BLM, but I couldn’t talk myself into shooting it with my bow and dealing with the people driving by.
I did fill my B tag on a trip with family. So that was...
Ha ha, yep. I hung it from my front door and it rolled out about a foot on the ground.
It’s getting shorter though. A closed with no deer, but I got out almost every weekend, and I killed a forky on opening weekend of B, next on the list is my NV tag, so the bears are safe for a couple more...
Not close to new, but still works great. Angle range compensation, consistent reads around 600 yards, but occasionally will read to 800 in perfect conditions. Would be good for someone getting into archery for sure. $75 tyd

If you don’t mind the extra weight, and length I really like my Knives if Alaska Elk Hunter. Since I got the Benchmade, though I haven’t carried it. The KoA is a D2 tool steel and edge retention is awesome. The Benchmade Is sweet too though. Both roughly in your price range

For 90% of my hunting it’s a .270 Ruger. That’s my go to gun. If I get a call for a vineyard pig or feel nostalgic I grab a 1953 model 94 in 30-30. Love that gun. I also have a Marlin model 80 .22 that was my Dad’s Grandpa’s gun, and take it whenever I can.
I feel like a one gun guy with that...
If you don't mind burning a couple of arrows do a couple of each, and see what your bow likes. I did 3 with the aluminum inserts behind the 75g brass, and 3 with just the 75 gr brass, both with wraps and blazers, 29" overall arrow length, and 70#. I did not notice enough of a difference at least...
Been lurking for quite some time. I decided to throw this out so if I comment on something, someone will know I'm not a bot or random troll. Although I might be...
Just kidding.
I really like the articles here, and some of the gear threads go into a lot of details from guys that have...
