Hi all, beating this death I know, another pack weight question. For a day in the field, not including the clothes on my back and my bino harness I am at 22.5lbs. The pack is a Kuiu 3200. Includes frist aid kit at 17.7oz, Kuiu rain gear 16.16oz, Skre puffy jacket 12oz, emergency gear 31oz... -

My avatar is a deer I got across the street in 222. The unit you drew in is pretty much close to a holy grail. You can get 350 plus in there or bigger. Its a big area and I would suggest a guide. Greg Krough would be my choice. Although known for Mule Deer, he puts some big Elk to sleep as well... -

Can't comment on this scope, but my 883 can stand up to the best of them, I think better actually, but all eyes are different. Kowa is under rated. -

Need a Elk hunt!
Don"t we all? I am planning on an OTC Utah hunt focused on the Zion region. However, with the fire up there i am having second thoughts. Although I know the area some what for Deer, never really hunted the area for elk and it is big unit and lots of private. I am open suggestions, must be OTC... -

Kowa Spotting scope which one?
I do not have the 77mm but I do have the 664 and 884. The 884 is indeed heavier. but, if your planning on driving and glassing the 884 is the ticket. In Utah this year, I would drive and then take short hikes to elevated positions to glass. The 884 is great and fits in the front pocket of the... -

Not sure if you can test a Kowa 883/884, but I found it best. Order one with a 30 day return. I went with it over the swaro HD (not ATX) -
