I found this gem on Craigslist, got it for $200! The gentleman I bought it from measured my draw and pull, 53# @ 26”. Would a 400 spine arrow with a 150gr head be a good start?
Opening day of Kentucky muzzleloader today. It’s been very warm but we had storms yesterday and it turned out clear and cool this morning. I saw several deer and about an hour in this guy walked through the shooting lane. I’d say he weighs 225lbs+. Brutal butcher and pack out but totally worth it!
I’m pretty novice at score and age. What do y’all think? PS I’m definitely shooting this guy given the chance! He’s was on camera just after sunrise about 3x per week.
I was only able to make it out a couple times during the rut due to my dad and daughter having simultaneous health issues. Everyone is healed up now and muzzleloader starts in two weekends. What say you about age and score for these 10 pointers?

I’ll be in W Nebraska bow hunting 11/5-11/9. I’m looking at Pine ridge/Ft Robison/Soldier Creek OR Oglala. Pine Ridge area would be glassing from high points and spot and stalk I assume. What would be the best tactic for the Oglala area? Any opinions on which area is better? Also, would it be...
All,
Other than the military, I’ve lived in Kentucky my whole life (39 yo). My family of wife and 2 kids (9 boy) (5 girl) recently went to Denver and hiked in RMNP, Red Rocks and had a great time. I’ve been a few other times. We are seriously contemplating a move there. I don’t think we can...
I watched him with a doe then he came towards the grunt tube. He turned at 215 yards and I took him with the .270win Nosler Accubond. He’s not my biggest but my heart was pumping! Then it was really pumping when I packed him out in my first use of the Mystery Ranch Metcalf. It was a few hundred...
This is the perfect application for a sous vide. You set the temp, I do 130F, then it can't get over cooked and it tenderizes. Then you super hot sear on each side and it is perfect.
These are some pics from last year. I drew a KY archery cow tag, and was successful DIY. I hunted the Prestonsburg Unit. The kill photo has my dad in the background as we prepare to butcher where she died on about a 45 degree slope!
I bought brand new today, still has tags, never used. Turns out we don't have the money right now. Freaking awesome pack! Has the Guide Light Frame with Overload Shelf. Mystery Ranch Metcalf Medium Foliage $500 TYD. PayPal or Apple Pay.
Yes, theoretically it should. 1" at 100yards should be 6" at 600yards (MOA). But, we don't shoot in a vacuum. So, like you said, any environmental factor or shooter error is going to have a magnified effect at 600 yards.
