    Utah East Wasatch Muzzleloader Deer

Got impatient and drew the east wasatch late muzzleloader deer hunt. Haven’t hunted the area for a couple decades and looking for general information about deer herd health and suggestions in setting expectations. With all the gas development in the lower elevations, are those areas worth...

Christensen 300 Mag problems and help needed

Assuming no pressure signs? As noted above , getting measurements of your sized and fired brass would tell you if you just need to make some adjustment with your sizing die.

Christensen 300 Mag problems and help needed

You didn’t mentioned if your nosler brass was new and whether you sized it or not. Perhaps a slightly tight chamber and the belt area of the brass expanded while firing. Have you reloaded and fired your once fired brass yet to see if you still have a problem. Not assuming anything but in your...

    300 win mag & 180's (3 Satterly Tests) - I can't believe what I'm seeing

Can’t see a ring forming on your pics but when case head separation begins it can be very faint. Get a heavy paper clip, open up end and put a small short hook on the straightens end of clip. Insert the clip hook in your brass and scratch up and down near the base. If case head separation is...

    200gr ELDX 300 wm H4831sc?

73g’s at saami length is likely a very hot load. Would not go that high without very careful work up. My tikka 300 win is on its upper end with same bullet and powder at 72.3 but loaded out to 3.5 COAL with 2850fps.

    300 win mag

I shoot both the 200 grain accubond and ELDX out of my 300 win with H4831sc, running 2850fps. Both are very accurate. Of theses two bullets, Accubond would be my choice for moose. ELDX are killers but I’ve had jacket separations in elk that make me concerned about encountering moose bone.

Just got my iPhone 13 phone skope case and put a glass protector on. Have dropped phone a couple times and no problem so far. Impressed with the skope case. Struggled to initially get phone locked into case with screen protector but needs to be tight anyway to hold phone securely.

    Caping Large Thick Skinned Trophies

Looking for caping tool recommendations, specifically what are people using to get cleanly through those very thick bull elk capes. We took a bull last year in November that had a 1/2 thick plus hide on the upper back neck area and I struggled significantly getting a clean, straight incision...

    Utah Elk Hunt

Absolutely, assuming you turn up some intel on an activel water hole/wallow, trail, saddle etc. Otherwise, your time might be best spent Glassing and finding elk. No way would I invest in a treestand commitment without some info on a bull I would want to kill.
