I agree on the capped yet stout enough (w/ or w/out zero stop) so you have the option. Seems like a simple thing to offer with existing designs even.
I have an idea for the add to the poll, inspired by your comments and other’s THLR reticle desires (which I totally get, just don’t know if...
Only if it has a flashing level indicator, inclinometer, barometer, compass, and range finder w/ anemometer that does math and talks to the green X-mas tree and lights up the correct ‘ornament’ red, in a flashing Morse code pattern to tell you what the hold off correction is for spin drift...
Yep, roger that, I'm sure if we nailed down the package it should sit in, and the stars aligned etc. Maven wouldn't ignore those of us that prefer MOA in said package. Relatively simple for them to have both options (I think, since they do it alot now) and would help them sell more.
If you...
I see 4cMuley (#3 contributor to conversation, so last one to get to add a poll option) thumbs upped this, so what do ya say @4cMuley, should I add a 3-12x44 to the mix in your honor? How would you spec it out? Simple and minimalist capped FFP, or some bells and whistles like zero stop exposed...
How about THLR in the simple straight forward 3-9 package?
First 3 people to contribute to the discussion get to add an option to the poll.
Since you're #2, I'll tuck it in there next to Dioni A's idea if you like the 3-9 with fixed parallax and exposed elev.?
I agree, 99% of the time don't have need nor want for it, would rather save the money and weight, just put it on some of these models (only if it mentioned in the description) to see what sort of discussion we'd churn up.
Appreciate all the feedback on the poll so far, love this place.
I love that idea as well, matches my preferences for quite a few guns too. I wonder if a scope with those features can be made that light and pass the field eval.?
I'll see if I can add to the poll!
Just for the sake of discussion, if the poll said you could only pick one... what would it be?
For me it'd be hard choice between the imaginary RSS6.X and the RSS3.9... but I think I'd have to say the fixed six just to have as slim, trim, budget friendly, and simple 'go to' option as possible...
Figured I'd drop this here, not trying to derail the thread. But... since this is a gathering place for discussing/appreciating the RS1.2, here's a place to vote on what scope configuration people on here would like to see Maven bring to market next...
Ok, right off the bat, I am not affiliated with Maven in any way other than being a happy RS1.2 customer that's hungry for more of the same performance in different configurations and price points. Seeking to bring attention to the demand that I suspect exists currently within the 'Slide...
That video should have an EDM/Techno version of this sound to go along with this modern day Vasily Zaitsev a la 'Enemy at the Gates'
More importantly, did you by chance get to see proof the baby otter survived? ;-)
Glad I stumbled into this, @fwafwow thanks for ressurrecting, not going to take anyone's word for it on here, but really prompted me to follow up and know where I stand. Hard to keep up with all this stuff these days sometimes.
This is super effective behavior, mechanically, and everyone benefits from the exchange ;) Just don't make a poor grammatical choice and forget the phugkin dots after the word (hint.........)
P.S. - I'm not him, just having a little fun, mods please don't ban me. I'm done now.
I hate to admit that after years of being a cognitively dissonant/contrarian 260 rem fan, as my time gets spread too thin between multiple projects (hunting/rifles/otherwise), aside from all the great info on here, and the ballistic number crunching, those damn stacks and stacks of quality...
Mines a Model 70 FTW, but because I have a rifle problem/solution (depending who you ask, haha) I have come extremely close to buying a(nother) Tikka so I could go down a very similar path to what you’re describing and I still just might! All my research that lead me to chopping the M70...
I've got one at the smith getting chopped soon at around 18.5", should be able to report back here for 150 ELDX and 162 ELDM and 140 AB's in a 3-4 weeks... but for now, color me curious also!
