I did do a search and read through multiple threads without finding the exact answer to this question, but I still apologize if the answer is already out there.
I am looking at expanding my boot collection and taking advantage of some of the occasional sales that I see, and I'm wondering if...
5'11" 215 here...I went in REI and loved the NEMO Tensor as well, and that's what I got. When I tested it out for the first time on my floor I accidentally took a couple hour nap. Then my wife went out on a limb and got the NEMO Astro Lite, and at a penalty of 4oz over the Tensor, I'm even more...
I hate mixing camo, but I love having the best (for me) of everything, and I haven't been able to accomplish that using only one mfg's product offerings. In the end, mixing camos is a sort of meta camo in and of itself.
It depends on what kind of lifecycle you're shooting for with your gear. Some people like to sell gear to move into the next iteration or technology, but some people would prefer to transition it from their hunting lineup to their everyday wear. My hunting clothing is waaay nicer than most of my...
It's a necessity for me since the bow goes back in the case after every session. I got the Shrewd, it works well. As simple as it is, I'm sure mfg is unimportant so long as it's a reputable one.
This is another thing that I like about the Iron Will collars...as long as the collar fits tight on the arrow you should have a perfect shoulder for your broadhead to mate to. At that point you just need your broadhead to be of the same quality, and your arrow to be straight.
QAD HDX as well. It's so easy to load. As long as the arrow is underneath the top bar, it doesn't even have to be on the rest- once you draw or thumb cock the rest the arrow gets more or less drawn into position. Also, being able to thumb cock the rest is fantastic.
Agree 100%, especially once you've "broken in" your bag target a bit. I have waaaay more trouble pulling my fat field points out of my bag than I do my iron will collars.
One last thing from me...if the arrows aren't already fletched when you buy them, ask the shop to only fletch 9 or 10 of the 12, but set up all 12 identical otherwise. Take those 2 or 3 bareshaft arrows, and set them to the side for a few months. After 3-5 months (depending on how much you...
I figured it was for the cost...my bag target ran me $40, a similarly sized quality foam target would be closer to $140...
I've never shot these into a high quality foam target, but I have shot them into a low quality, layered foam target, and they were excruciating to remove. Every. Single. One.
I would give the edge to a true puffy, but with those layers you should be alright. You might consider finding a down HZ or FZ sweater on clearance somewhere to wear under your woodbury, possibly to replace the peloton 200 as it's going to have a bit more horsepower and provide more wind...
Yes, they do. Some shots worse than others. If you've got field points that are fatter than the collars, that helps because they make a bigger hole. When mine get stuck, here is my process for getting them out.
1) Yank hard and fast. That gets most of them. If that doesn't work...
2) Pull up...
3. Start with a dozen arrows. JUST AS IMPORTANT- spend a little extra and get a decent sized target with a lot of different areas on it to shoot at. Big is good because it puts space between your groups and lowers the likelihood of you whiffing the target and losing an arrow. Lots of areas on...
I went to Walmart a couple months ago to get some of those Wrangler pants you mentioned, and the ones they had on hand were of such poor craftsmanship that I didn't even consider them to be worth $20-25/pair. Perhaps the quality varies between batches, because I've only ever read good things...
I have some Arc'teryx LEAF Fusion pants that I got on sale that I'm a huge fan of. They aren't as insulated as most down pants, but they feel pretty durable, windproof, light, and pack pretty well. They also have a zippered fly and shock cords to cinch down around your ankles, which are really...
When building a new batch of arrows, do y'all select your fletching based on the broadheads that you want to use, vice versa, or do you select each without respect to one another?
I ask because I'm ready to fletch a batch of bare shafts, and I would like to tip them with 2-blade COC broadheads...
