NXS 2.5-10 Reticle MOA or MIL for hunting?

Thanks for the info. Too bad they don't make an moar-style reticle in mil units...seems like it would be a winner

NXS 2.5-10 Reticle MOA or MIL for hunting?

Alright seems like MIL is definitely the preference! But what about the reticles themselves? Assuming you get the crosshairs on the animals, anyone else agree with @Southern Lights that the NF MILR is too crowded?

NXS 2.5-10 Reticle MOA or MIL for hunting?

I''ve decided on a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 for a 6.5cm Tikka stainless in my MDT HNT26 chassis. Now I'm just trying to decide on which reticle to get. I've never done any sort of dialing for shooting, as I've primarily bow hunted until now. I'm canadian so I like the fact that MILR is base 10 /...

    Pop riveting DIY stove ?

For the rivets, you need to use stainless steel (or just normal steel would work too). The melting point for aluminum is too low and they will loosen up after the first fire (…ask me how I learned). Other posters are right though, just drill a hole first, insert rivet, then use tool to install...

    Magnification power Digiscoping from Binos

Just a theory, but could it be that the lens your iPhone uses for 5x zoom is not the one that you’ve aligned with your binos? The phones with multiple lenses will use certain ones for certain tasks.

    Case for folding chassis rifle

I recently picked up an HNT26 chassis, going to be putting a Tikka 6.5CM action and barrel (cut to 19.5 inches) in it. Does anyone have recommendations on a good case for it? Is it fine to store it in the folded position? I was thinking it would be good to have a hard plastic case with cut out...

    Best Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 price?

I’m in Canada but will be down in the USA for a couple weeks next month. Looking to pick up a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 while I’m down there to hopefully take advantage of cheaper prices. Any good deals going on? I’m open to demo units as well.

New tikka chassis build - deciding on rings

I picked up an MDT HNT26 chassis on their Black Friday sale (40% off a factory second!!). I also picked up a stainless T3X 6.5CM to use as the donor (going to chop the barrel down the 20inches). For the scope, I’m thinking I’ll pick up an NXS 2.5-10 once I find a decent deal on one. Only thing...

6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

Does anyone have a good summary of this thread? I’m putting together a new gun, definitely somewhat of a Rokslide special…MDT HNT26 chassis, and a Tikka stainless 6.5cm. Still looking into optics, but right now I’m thinking a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 paired with sportsmatch rings. I’ve got a couple...

Deciding on a donor rifle for XLR mag4.0 chassis build

Interesting, I never even considered about cutting the barrel down. I guess cutting a couple inches off a standard barrel would make it even lighter than the standard length fluted barrel from the superlite?

Deciding on a donor rifle for XLR mag4.0 chassis build

I’m planning on ‘building’ a chassis rifle for backpack hunting over the next year. I’ve settled on 6.5CM in a XLR Magnesium folding chassis based on my research. but now I’m trying to find a good donor rifle to use. Because I’m trying to not overspend on this, I’ve decided to buy a complete...

    Eliminate 20 yard pin?

I do a 27 - 40 - 50 - 60 - 70 yard setup on my 5pin sight. I think I heard about this setup on the exo mtn gear podcast from Steve. Really like it. The 27yard pin is close enough (within a couple inches) at any yardage below 40
