    StaBall Powders Experience

For those of you that have used the StaBall powders, how do you like them. Specifically looking at the 6.5 and Match powders in 6.5 CM. .243 and .223. I haven’t bought powder in about 8 years and I’m finally running low. Been using Varget for .223 and IMR 4831 for the other two. I like the...

    Hornady A-max for whitetails.

Killed several deer with the 105 AMAX in a .243 several years back. Thinking back now I have no idea why I thought I needed different calibers and rifles lol. It worked great...I would have save a ton of money had I just stuck with that combo. New and shiny things are exciting... Sorry for the...

Varget for .243 and 6.5 CM?

I have quite a bit of Varget on hand. I haven’t loaded .243 in several years, but I am getting back into shooting it and just picked up a new Tikka. Should I run the Varget I already have or pick up some H4350 or H4831 for 100gr + bullets?

Best Pants for Warm Weather Cactus/Thorns with Kneepads?

Carhartt double front pants are my go to. They are warm, but you won’t get thorns and cactus in your legs.

    All around deer hunting cartridge.

I would say 6.5 CM or my new .243 once I get it dialed in and test. I also have a RokSlide special .223. After killing a ton of critter with a .243 and .223 when I first started hunting I went the magnum route for a bit and then hung with the .308 for a long time. And now I’m back where I started.

    Recurve better for shoulder injury?

Recurve will definitely be harder on the shoulder as others have said. You’re holding the weight the whole time, and more weight the farther back you pull. I’ve torn my bicep tendon twice and have rotator cuff issues. I shot a 43lb bow for a couple of season and killed deer and turkey. I shot...

Well I caved, down the hole I go….(update)

Well, my T3X 1-8 .243 will arrive this week. I tried really hard to talk myself out of it, but that only lasted til I found a good deal.

Which Reflex Optic Red Dot Size/MOA for Turkey Shotgun?

Enclosed emitter is a good idea for field use. I’ve been testing some of the Viridian products, as I really like the green dot. The RFX44 would be good, or if an open emitter is ok the RFX15…I like the slightly smaller size for tramping through the woods. I’ve beat the crap out of both of them...

What rifle is missing stock options?

Browning X-Bolt .223 action…it’s shorter than the regular .308 short action. No one makes a stock for it.

The best all around 243 bullet

https://www.federalpremium.com/rifle/fusion/11-F243FS1.html 95gr Federal Fusion. Not the best long range bullet, but lets hope they add a .243 Win to the Tipped-Fusion lineup in the next year or so to help with that.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Kenko, who owns Sightron, is who makes the fixed power SWFA scopes. That bodes well for them…and the ExacTrack system is solid.
