Anyone used a clip-on thermal vs a thermal scope? Just wondering how well it works for predators. I think it would be nice to be able to switch it to different scopes and rifles easily.
Speer has a line of Boat Tail bullets with a soft point. I’m guessing they are similar to the Sierra Game Kings, but have never tried them. Anyone have experience with them on animals? Was looking at the 100gr .243 bullets for plinking, deer and coyotes as my local shop has them at a decent price.
SWFA 1-6 was the ticket. 1-4 hasn't done as well.
The issues with most LPVO's now is the reticles are more designed for 3-gun than for hunting. S&B has the good ones, but not in the price range you listed.
Well, jumping in and trying StaBall 6.5 in my .243 and 6.5 and trying Match in .223.
I talked to a guy that does custom reloading and he said it has temp stability of the extreme powders and meters easier.
He did say he’s had a rifle that didn’t like it, but it happens with some rifles.
After handling one, I wouldn’t get one. You can grab the bolt anywhere and slide it back. The release is a little tab on the side, if dirt or anything gets under that, you bust yourself in the face running the bolt …actually witnessed that while in the shop, funny to watch but terrible design...
Ruger Americans are the Red Solo cups of the rifle world. They serve their intended purpose.
Weatherby Vanguards are solid. I actually prefer them to the MK V. I drank the cool aid and I’m on the Tikka bandwagon now, so I’d go that route.
Freezes dried zucchini chips are pretty solid. A bit of olive oil and salt before you throw them in…good replacement for potatoes chips. I’ve done them dehydrated too.
Freeze dried ice cream is also fun.
This would be tough for me to decide, both would be great options. I have a soft spot for the .243 so that’s my vote. Had a lot of experience with 105 A-Max and had great success. Just getting started with the 108, but based on results on here from others it works.
