It’s running GREAT… but in the 6 ARC. Direct replacement from old loads, but seems a little more consistent than the Hornady brass I was running before
Have a decent sized lot of new, starline 6.5 Grendel brass that is going to be my 22 ARC brass.
There are a few YouTube videos where people do it in one step, but if I already have a 6 ARC die, would there be any advantage to going 6.5G to 6ARC (neck only) to 22ARC? Or should I skip the extra...
I don’t have a chrono and haven’t checked it in enough conditions to tell you for sure on velocity stability, but I can tell you that even in 100+ degree heat that load doesn’t change to too hot for the gun or anything
I’ve been using 25.5 gr with each. I’ve heard of people going from 25-26 depending on the gun.
If I was you, I would start at 24.5 and see where I could get to.
It has been extremely accurate for me if that makes you feel any better about the 8208
For what it’s worth, I’m shooting a 6ARC ar with a BA barrel. I know that’s not the cats meow of barrels, but it shoots really good (1-1.5in 10 shot groups) with 100-108gr bullets. However, I cannot get it to shoot well with anything lighter than 100gr bullets.
I hunt with a couple ARs in 22 and 6mm cal. I would say it’s a trade off between platforms (bolt vs AR) for me on feel.
However, I hunt out east which feels like the minority here. It seems like a lot of the guys talking about liking bolt guns so much better are also hiking a lot, I.e. a big...
Was kind of worried about the same thing, but that’s what I meant when I said get in a rhythm. The cutter should be stopped as soon as it touches the back of the primer pocket (you can feel it after a while). I’m sure if it was overused it was kill the primer pocket. That being said, I have not...
