    How short of a barrel? I have an early 2000’s win 70 coyote in 300WSM thats been collecting dust for 20 years. I was thinking about cutting it to 18”… I was thinking of 16” but I don’t think I have a can that is rated for that short.

    I simply don’t like 90 degree bolt throw. I know not all 700 type actions are but still… I also don’t like AICS mags or BDL, I haven’t handled a rifle with the former that don’t rattle. Tikka’s are the easy button for me. Smooth and simple.

    “Reasonably” is subjective. I would hold it to your whatever standards you have for your hunting bolt gun. An AR can be a 1 moa gun pretty easily. Just don’t feed it junk and expect miracles, like any rifle.
