I have an NXS 5.5-22x56 and an NX8 4-32x50. I have spent quite a bit of time behind the 5-25 ATACR. I am a SFP guy, and I really like the NXS. It is a sweet scope that is bullet proof.
If you follow the tundra forums on reddit, you’ll see there are some 2024’s battling some engine failures. They haven’t necessarily determined debris was the cause, but there is obviously concern that the 2024’s are suffering the same fate as the 22s and 23s.
I am following this closely...
But at 26.4 oz, you arent that far off from a nightforce NX8 and no better than the tenmile 3-18. If Maven would have come in at 20 oz, it would be the scope to beat. At its current weight, its nothing special.
I am having a tough time wrapping my head around the 6.8 western having more case capacity than the 280 AI. The 6.8 western is essentially a 6.5 PRC necked up to .277.
Here is a picture I took of the 6.5 PRC and 6.8 western (I also own a 6.5 PRC).
I have owned both, and still have the 280 AI. The 6.8 western was sold to my buddy. You are splitting hairs. Long action vs short action if a few ounces matter to you. I love my 280 AI. I have wanted one for a long time. You have a lot of high bc options in 7mm, so advantage 280 in that...
comfortable boots with good ankle support. I shoot an over under with a modified and full choke. I mostly hunt late season though, so birds are skiddish. Brush pants are nice and I would grab an upland bird vest if you dont have one. October will still be warm weather i am guessing.
I still don’t get it. 🤷🏻♂️. Excited to hear real world experiences from those willing to bite the bullet and try it out. I would love to be wrong. I do a lot of back country hunting in idaho, montana, utah, colorado etc and am always looking to shave ounces where it makes sense.
Teenage son is wanting to do a backcountry elk hunt. He already has the frame, suspension and smaller bag. I am looking for a bigger bag for the trip. Thought I would check here before I go buy one off the website. Let me know what you got. Needs to be the newer version as both our packs...
Dang, I was pretty excited when I saw the title. What a dumb concept. Is it more stable than the spartan bipod? Probably. Is it better than shooting off an atlas bipod? Probably not and the atlas weighs less. The situations where this can be used with a spotter outside the bench at the...
