The Omega isn't a high efficiency can and won't tame recoil like some of the others.
I can tell you from experience that a Nomad LT knocks the recoil on my sub 6lb 7mm down to the point that it barely even moves.
I'd get that or a CGS Hyperion and I guarantee recoil won't be an issue
Haha! Yeah I know what you mean about that dude..
Last time I ordered it was a new guy who was great to work with, it was a 300 NM Ackley prefit and it's shooting .3 consistently.
They straight up shoot, but go with whatever tickles your little pickle
Many thanks to those who PMd me basic habitat information like I'd requested, I learned a lot and found out that the prime sheep and Goat units are currently closed for rifle..
Also access is very tight on the island with many great looking areas being entirely blocked with private lands.
I...
The ability to remove and clean your can comes to mind, also you can get AR barrels designed to pin and weld, I've never heard of such a thing for a bolt gun.
2" and 4 oz just doesn't in any way make sense to me given the trade offs.
I'll bet that last 2" costs you close to 100 fps vs a 16"...
Don't worry about the no go gauge, have you tried putting a piece of tape on the go gauge?
I've had headspace so excessive on a rifle once that the primer barely got struck and occasionally wouldn't fire, I measured fired cases at the shoulder and they moved .010.
You definitely don't want a...
I bought two for precision rifles that wouldn't shoot better than moa, one sent 2 moa cold bore flyers and copper fouled like crazy.
I sent that barrel back, they said it needed recrowned, it still shot terrible but they refused to replace it.
I called them for weeks asking for a refund, finally...
Yes it's much stronger, like I said BAT won't offer it with a lapua bolt cuz it won't handle the pressure, at least long term.
I really dig my Vesper and it's 26 oz as advertised, not saying the vampire isn't a strong action or that it will have issues with a standard mag but for a couple...
If the price is close get the Vesper, it's a frigging tank and stronger than the aluminum Vampire.
BAT machine said the vampire won't handle lapua sized cases, shouldn't be an issue with a PRC but why not get the strongest action that'll take pressure?
Read the rules again and if you have a problem send me a pm and stop hijacking my thread.
I'm only interested in generic information not specific places to hunt, I mentioned said unit cuz it's high elevation and my question specifically was geared towards habitat.
I wouldn't expect any...
What threads would that be?
Edit to add:
Just in case you missed this see below.
Also I don't want your honey hole info like I said initially, I will add though that any specific unit info should be kept to PMs and off the open forum
Right on
It looks like most of the Kona side is closed with the exception of a few B units thar are actually lower elevation.
Hilo has lots of open areas but I'm sure the jungle habitat will be tough based on my experience in Kauai.
The Mauna Kea unit is open and it's high elevation, did you...
Hey fellas
Wifey booked me a mandatory family vacation to the big island at the end of the month.
I killed some archery hogs in Kauai at a friend's nursery awhile back and that got me looking into DIY hunting on our trip.
I've never been to the big island, we're splitting our stay between Hilo...
Unknown munitions designed their centerfeed M5 DBM around lapua and NM Ackley improved cartridges.
You'll never have a feeding issue with that setup regardless of the shoulder angle
For sure just match your action specs to your cartridge is my point, just like you're supposed to use 8" stem walls for a 2 story house but cheap asses try to get by with 6".
In the end if you don't do it right initially it'll end up costing you more to fix, I've learned this firsthand.
