This is off-topic from the point of this thread, but did you happen to post about your prep/experience for your trips? This is something I'm planning to do for my 40th in a few years and would love to hear more. I can PM if that's easiest.
Agreed - but that goes for all books or information we ingest. I'd rather open my mind to various sources, and make my own decisions and conclusions. What I don't understand are the folks who completely dismiss something before doing their own thinking.
I think I'll be eating ramen for a bit......I pulled the trigger and upgraded to a Swaro ATS 65 / NL Pure 12x42 combo. I read through a lot of reviews and comments here, the indirect input was much appreciated. I went back and forth on the 10x42 ELs which make much more financial sense, but I...
You can also make your own which are extremely easy and you can add whatever you want in them. A good base is oats + peanut butter + honey, add in some nuts or seeds, dried fruits and you're in business. No need to bake but there are some baked options that may last a little longer
I would assume it's better to get it deleted, so down the road if someone searches the outfitter name, that thread title doesn't pop up saying they are a bad operation. A lot of folks will just look at the title or original post and not through the entire thread to see the outcome.
What irks...
I don't do carnivore, but that is correct, especially for something at a little higher intensity like a sprint triathlon. There are some endurance athletes that do a keto based diet but fuel intense workouts and definitely races with carbs. You can do them without carbs, but you'd be limiting...
I'm the opposite, right handed and left eye dominant. I know the recommendation is to shoot your eye dominance, I still shoot right handed.
For rifles with a scope, no issue closing my left eye although it reduces field of view and light into the eye. I do the same with my bow.
With shotguns...
This right here. It's all about energy balance (expenditure vs intake) and doing it in a way that is sustainable long term. There are zealots that swear by carnivore, or that carbs are bad, or to fast. These are all ways to restrict calories, and all macronutrients serve a purpose. These ways...
I can't comment on Texas specifically (I personally wouldn't move there), but hopefully I can be of some help. My wife and I (mid 30's) were born and raised in Florida, lived their our whole lives. We have our family in Central/North Florida and Georgia. The past few years I had a strong desire...
Subscribing to this - I'm essentially doing the opposite. MTN Tough preseason prep 2.0 last year, and I just purchased the MTI packet (base, build 1, build 2, preseason) for the full 29 weeks to complete this year. I'm doing MTN Tough postseason strength in the meantime.
Did you just do the...
Drive a desk for a living...I do the same, I'll have to use that line. I agree on trying to find a non-emotional summary of the facts so I can make my own decisions. It's seemingly harder and harder to not have a polarized take on every single topic. Maybe a polarized view is warranted, but then...
Where are you seeing that elk decreased? I'm looking at fish and game numbers and overall populations have grown, and Wyoming is even saying some herds are overpopulated. I did see the Yellowstone herd was reduced by about 50%. I have no clue what the carrying capacity of that environment is...
I'm assuming a lot of decisions are being made based on studies such as this:
https://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/people-predators/wolves-big-game-and-hunting-8-001/
It states that in WY, ID, and MT where wolves are present - the elk population and hunter harvests have mainly...
What's the end goal? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity because I don't know. Is it to try and reduce hunting/ranching opportunities? What does that get them other than a group of pissed off people, surely it's something deeper than that.
I've read the book and run a lot. I have a lactate meter and test periodically. My thresholds are dialed in but more importantly it's good to know how that translates to perceived effort. The field tests laid out are a great option and will get you very close. Aerobic work will go a very long...
