    WTB .270 WSM Ammo

I’m getting a .270 WSM in the near future, but it’s darn near impossible to find any ammo for it unless I’m willing to sell a kidney or one of my kids. Does anyone out there have any they would be willing to part with? I’d be happy to pay a fair price for it. I’d prefer 130 grain if you have...

    First Timer Strategy Questions

I have hunted antelope quite a bit and have lived in Wyoming for over 9 years now. I would recommend looking at the walk in areas that are available in the state. I have had some great opportunities by taking advantage of them. There are also HMAs (Hunter Management Areas) available that are run...

    Backpacking/Fishing Trip Route Reccomendations

The Bighorn Crags in Idaho near Salmon are absolutely beautiful! There are a bunch of lakes and lots of fish. There are a few mosquitoes, but they're bearable. I went in 2009 and it was an awesome trip.

leupold GR 15-30x50 or GR 12-40x60?

I have the 12-40x60 and it’s a great scope. I don’t have any experience with the smaller scope, but I would guess that the bigger scope will be superior in every way except for weight and cost. If you have the coin, I’d go for the bigger one.

WTB Kifaru Frame, Nomad, Camp Bag, Lid, Grab it

There is a Nomad for sale on Ebay right now that you might be interested in. Not mine and I don't know the seller, but you might be able to get a good deal on it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kifaru-Nomad-Bag-Wolf-Grey/113751280680?hash=item1a7c1acc28:g:acQAAOSwUwdc3Mr-

Best kifaru pack for moose and elk?

I just bought a Nomad 2 and hopefully it'll be here next week sometime. From my understanding, you can put darn near anything you want on it and it's pretty versatile. Something to look into.

You ever skip a year of hunting to do something else?

I skipped 2 years when I was a missionary for my church. Also missed out a few times for school, gaining residency and just living in a place where the opportunities available didn't make it easy to go. Not planning on missing any more, but with the way my life is I imagine it will happen...

    Wyoming units 73/98

The nice thing about 73 is that it’s right next to Casper. You can get pretty much anything you need there including game processing if you’re so inclined. Big area with lots of public land. I don’t really know anything about 98, so I can’t comment much on it, but it would definitely be a...

    Optics for backpack elk hunting

I have a Leupold Golden Ring 12x40 x 60 HD Spotter that I quite like. It weighs less than 3 pounds and is good glass, albeit not on the same level as say Swarovski, Zeiss, or Leica. With a little looking you should be able to find a used one for less than $1000.

    Wyoming 2019

I’ve had great luck in a particular walk in area. They can be great, but you may have to do some walking. It’s worth the trouble.

    Rattlesnakes in October in Wyoming

I've hunted in Wyoming in the fall quite a bit and have never seen one. With that being said, I know they're around. Just be smart about things and keep your head on a swivel and you should be just fine.

    6.5 CM or .243

I don't have any experience with the 6.5, but my boys and I have killed several antelope with my .243. It's an awesome caliber and works great as long as you put the shot in the right place.

    Any morels yet?!

I hear they come up later here in Wyoming. I've never found any, and don't really know where to look, but I'd like to go out and poke around and see what I find.

    Wyoming Bison

I put in as a resident this year, but with my luck I doubt I'll have to worry about going out to shoot one anyway. If I do happen to draw, I'm sure I'll try to get out several times including in the early season.

What does everyone do for a living?

I'm a teacher, which makes it difficult to get out in the fall to hunt. But, I can usually find a little time.

My 2019 fallow deer rut in Australia

That looks awesome! I'd love to hunt other countries, but I can barely afford to hunt in-state here. Great write-up and pictures.
