I like to cut the distance to about 200 yards as fast and quiet as possible with a good wind. I drop my pack and slip on the wool socks. Then I try to close the next 100 yards at a medium pace as long as I am not within line of sight and can do so quietly. The last leg of my stalk... I tell...
I finally got to punch my tag on a great boar with a good melon on him. He squared 6' 2" and had a 18 3/8 inch skull on him. I had a very comfortable two mile pack out, thanks to my new Exo 3500 pack. I thought id share my success with all you Rocksliders!

I went out today with a non resident tag in my pocket to extend my season and managed to locate this 26 1/2 wide 2x3. I was able to line up a big rockpile in front of the buck and me and cut the distance in half real quick. I crawled the last 30 yards around the edge of the pile to a big sage...
I just thought id share a little late season archery success. I was able to smoke this buck at 55 yards after a good snowstorm, he made it 30 yards and piled up. Good luck to everyone out chasing late season bucks.
The grid spotter is 12 oz and the vanguard ph 111 v head is 14 oz. so I would actually save a couple oz, But I don't see myself packing my 15's on a hunt that im concerned with weight. I would just pack my 10x42's and spotter on a backpack hunt. I was looking at this system strictly for glassing...
I just purchased the new 15x56 Swarovski binos and was thinking about getting a grid spotter to go along with them, to mount up on my slik 624 tripod. Does anybody have any experience with this system or the grid spotter glassing technique?
I was able to take this boar while he was feeding in an avalanche chute at 916 yards. Thought id share my success. I was a little disappointed to see he had no hair on his face and paws. it looked like he had frost bite on his face and paws, maybe from choosing a bad den location. A friend of...
I shoot an 80 lb hoyt spyder with almost 500 grain arrows! I had a wide open shot at his vitals when I crept forward, and at a hair over 15 yards I didn't think it was a questionable shot one bit! The arrow hit the buck tight off the spine of the bucks back behind the front shoulder and exited...
I was able to harvest this nice backcountry mule deer as he scratched out his bed for the the day at 27 yards! I found this buck while in pursuit of a giant that I had previously scouted, but couldn't pass on the opportunity. Im headed back in a few weeks to try my luck at the buck I was after...
