I will agree with that there are no cheap, sound, and broke horses; but I think you can find one for less than 10k easy. If there are places around that board/train horses give them a jingle; they usually have a line on someone who is looking to get away from the boarding and/or feed bills...
I was up there last week. Fewer caribou than 2021; most seemed to be right where they were doing road construction (a little ways north of Galbraith Lake and occupying about 20 miles of road). We spent most of our time just South of Deadhorse. There were caribou up there, but it was hard to...
Did it opening day. I’m in better than average shape. 0/5 stars, would not do again. Glad I didn’t find one out there the pack out would’ve been an epic bastard
Finished this build yesterday, went no holds barred (except when limited by availability) to go ultralight as I’m planning to hike off the Dalton Corridor this year for caribou. First full build, pretty easy. 4lbs on the nose w my crappy fishing scale. Waiting on Wilson Combat rings to mount...
I have a Kimber Hunter in 308, Leupold rings/bases and 3-9x33 VariX compact. I haven’t weighed it but it’s somewhere around 6.25lbs. On a good day I can keep it moa, bad days 1.5 moa. Used from my local Scheels, marked at 750, talked them down to 700.
I think I could get it sub 6 w...
Planning archery, I’d be ok w the hike out of the corridor but don’t think my 13 yo would have fun with that type 2 fun (yet).
Was looking at the Alpacaraft mule or caribou, thoughts?
Im pretty sure I’m going to go SG Skyscraper. Unless you think I could get by w Kuiu Summit refuge and its...
Planning on hunting the haul road in early August. Want to get a lightweight tent, I’m between a hilleberg ballot 3 get and a kifaru sawtooth. I’m thinking the Hilleberg is probably the better tent for that specific hunt, but that the kifaru (w mosquito netting) may be more versatile overall...
