WTB WTB Kuiu Tall frame with L/XL suspension

Looking for a Kuiu Tall frame, but can make an X-Tall work if I have to, along with an L/XL suspension. Ideally it'd be in a flat color but not opposed to camo, and would prefer verde. I'm located in Ontario, Canada, so please factor that shipping when sending me a price.

Sold Meopta Meostar HD 10x42 (Cabelas branded)

I'm not 100% sure as I'm the second owner but I've only had them for a season. A quick check online and it looks like Meopta stopped making this model for Cabelas around 2018, so the "youngest" they would be is 4 years but they could be 6-8 years old.

Sold Meopta Meostar HD 10x42 (Cabelas branded)

Sad to see these go but I recently upgraded to Swaro EL's, although when I compare them I can't distinguish a difference in image quality. Comes with original lens and eye cup caps, and original case. I'm missing the cap for the tripod adapter (pictured) but you can have a vortex or vixen tripod...

Alberta Mule Deer Hunt, By Viktor Arzethauser

Well rub it in why don't ya. I can't say that I'm not jealous. Because of the shutdown, I've had the chance to scout like crazy but if you hunted public land with 2 hours of the GTA, you know those tracts are tiny in comparison. It's probably a good thing though as I'd probably still be in the...

Manfrotto Befree Live Carbon Fiber Tripod Review, By Jordan Budd

I use the Befree Fluid head it's sweet - very smooth and easily adjustable. The 1 knock is that the point of aim will move down a bit if you really crank down on the vertical adjustment knob. It's not crazy but still noticeable if you're at 30X and up. I also use it for photography and it...

Manfrotto Befree Live Carbon Fiber Tripod Review, By Jordan Budd

I've got the aluminum version with the flip locks and I love it. It has a center column without the ball joint if you'd like to trade just that center column (they're easy to take out by removing the plastic cap on the bottom). It's aluminum so the weight savings may not be crazy but I'm sure...

Alberta Mule Deer Hunt, By Viktor Arzethauser

Would love to some day, just don't have a group to hunt with. 99% of my hunting is done solo but I still put in for the draw, and with the new changes, I might get a tag sooner than later.

Alberta Mule Deer Hunt, By Viktor Arzethauser

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read the story, and for all your positive feedback. Not a day goes by that I don't think about being in the mountains again. Although the weather out here has been crap so at least I get to enjoy similar weather.

Training for a mountain hunt where there are no mountains

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I just got back from the hunt and it was a grind, but the training I did certainly helped out. A few things I learned that might help you guys: Recovery is key!: since you're going to get tired no matter what, you should spend at least 2-3 workouts a week...

MR Guide Lite lower back hot spot

It's basically located exactly where the pad is, so that could be the problem. I've been wrapping it in a towel but that's more so that the pack doesn't get scuffed up. I'll see what I have that can raise the load up a bit higher. My sleeping bags weren't cheap but maybe a ton of towels will...

MR Guide Lite lower back hot spot

Not exactly what I wanted to hear but I know this is a possibility. Fingers crossed it's not because I'm heading out in 18 days and not sure I want to start looking for a new pack altogether. Guess I'll give customer service a shot. Thanks.

First time mountain hunt in the Alberta Rockies - what camera gear should I bring?

I've actually thought of buying the quick attachments from the Cotton Carrier, and attaching them to my bino harness. Only thing I'm worried about is that the temps are going to be between zero and minus 20. I'm also worried about it not being protected.

MR Guide Lite lower back hot spot

Hip belt is super tight and the shoulder straps are actually loose enough that you can poke a finger through it (I know they're supposed to rest on top but it works just the same)

Training for a mountain hunt where there are no mountains

Thanks again for the feedback guys. I actually found a semi-local bunny ski hill. It's laughable at best but the back side of it is pretty steep so I've been going and up and down that for an hour a day with a kettlebell in my pack. I'm so glad I found this because, while going up is fine, going...

MR Guide Lite lower back hot spot

I'm currently training for my first mountain hunt, part of which entails throwing a 52lb kettlebell into my Guide Lite meat shelf and hoofing around a local ski hill for a few hours. I'm getting a bad hot spot right on my lower back where the pad touches. I'll admit the belt is pretty high on my...

Will my contact lenses/contact solution freeze?

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. It looks like keeping them in my sleeping bag is the way I'm going. It's a pretty obvious solution that I probably only would have thought of once my contacts and solution had frozen.

Will my contact lenses/contact solution freeze?

Heading to a cold-as-balls backcountry hunt in the Alberta Rockies in early November (-20C at night) and I was wondering if anyone has ever had issues with their contacts? I'm reading some conflicting articles online so hopefully some of you have experience. I'll be bringing my glasses but I'd...
