    I think the Kestrel would be more suited for what you want. Also, you may want to look at Lems Primal Pursuit Mid. I’m in Montana and found these to be a great early season light weight hiker that provides good support. I grab these over my Schnee’s Timberline boots.

    Exo Mountain K4?

    I suspect you are probably right. I put about 50lbs on it overnight to accelerate the break in process; we will see how it goes. Overall very pleased with the pack, Exo did a great job making the K4.

    Razor (Gen 1) vs. Athlon Ares G2 Spotter

    I know this is almost a month old, but I have had both scopes and I think optically the Athlon is the better glass. It is sharper, better color, and it is brighter. The benefit to the Vortex is the fine focus knob. Optically the Razor has a much more muted gray tint when looking through it.

    I have the B6 and really like them. I choose them over the B1.2 to get the larger objective and more light gathering. Both are great, whatever you decide.

    Good to hear packs are showing up. I ordered my K4 Feb 2 at the Utah Expo, and still have not received a shipping notice. Sounds like I could have waited to order on Monday and get my pack the same time as everyone else. I’ll have to call Exo and make sure they didn’t forget me.
