    Why do you hunt?

Started at 8 walking behind Grampa, learning how to hunt, read sign, the smells, the feel, the sounds of the forest. he taught me the old ways of his people " Menominee Indian". We hunted to provide. I now hunt to honor the elders and the spirit of the hunt....oh and to eat tasty critters.

Worst Case Scenario - Bad Shot

Been there brother, probably one of the worst days you will have in the field. My grand dad would say there are only 2 types of hunters...those that have wounded an animal and not recovered it and those that will.

    First solo hunt, any advice?

its really dangerous...you shouldnt go.... can i have your tag? hahaha naw man, the best time in the woods is being alone with just your thoughts and the sounds of nature. relish that time, not many people get to have it.

    Hunting near the border....

in Wyo you have every right by law to retrieve your downed animal ( wither on public or private ). the game warden or land owner may want to accompany you on the retrieval but they can not stop you legally. As far as the animal spoiling, i think you voice your concern to the warden and if he...

    Rutting when it's dry

Wapiti1 hit it on the nose! Sounds like we are gonna get a bit of a break here next week...snow moving in up north and a cold front moving through. that should get them going a little bit. The best thing about hot and dry is you will always know where they are...just find the water or wallows.
