    Best Credit Card?

Because I can use my Costco Citibank card every time I get fuel and earn a 4% discount. And then when I use the same card when eating out I get another 3% discount, and finally another 2% when I use it at Costco. Last year the wife and I "earned" a free $700 just for using this card.

Anyone Interested in Driving from Idaho to Alaska?

Rookie? Hardly. I driven up or down that highway at least 25 times since 1977. This includes Jeeps, trucks, cars, Motorhomes, motorcycles, and hauling boats and atvs. And all 4 seasons including Dec and January. Rookie? Now that's funny, lol.

Whats a good salary to you?

My son has been the greatest joy in my life and my number 1 hunting and fishing partner until he left the house. We made fly in trips to Kodiak to hunt deer since he was about 10 years old and river trips to the Koyukuk to hunt moose when he was older. Literally hundreds of fishing trips in our...

Whats a good salary to you?

Everyone operates with a different set of 0's in their budgets. What works for one, another would feel rich, or broke. What a person (or couple) makes is not near as important as how they spend it. But that is their business isn't it?

Anyone Interested in Driving from Idaho to Alaska?

Most likely cheaper to ship it than to drive it. If you are driving figure in 4-5 nights in a motel, food, plus fuel. Hotels alone will cost close to $1K. And none of this takes into consideration your time or potential expenses if you have a break down or wear and tear on your vehicle.

    Alaska wild salmon

Its a pretty complex situation and no two groups seem to agree on a solution. Some blame it on warmer water temperatures, some say the over abundance of hatchery raised pinks is causing some of the issues facing the kings. Others feel the foreign trawlers are stealing Alaska's fish. The king...

~$3500 scope, made in Texas. What am I missing?

Some people perceive quality based on how much something costs. The more it costs, the better it must be. They are sure good for our economy.

    How's your snowpack looking?

Basically non existent in Alaska. We had maybe a 1/10th of what we normally have. No snow in our yards for at least the last 6 weeks.

    April Fools Pranks

My best one? I put some photos of a really nice almost new Harley on craigslist. Made up an ad with a crazy low price. Like 40% of what it was worth. Mentioned I was done with riding and just wanted the bike gone. Show up with the cash and the bike is yours. Title in hand. Oh, the contact name...

Gunsmith bedded stock - cant remove action

Exactly. And you also want to add a strip of tape across the bottom of the lug as well. The only place the recoil lug should make contact with is the the back of it. IMO the only exception to this rule is when bedding a Ruger 77 or a similar style recoil lug As far as changing POI if you remove...

Gunsmith bedded stock - cant remove action

Insert the barrel inside a close fitting pipe and lift the pipe up holding from the point farthest away. Once you remove it get a Dremel and remove some of the bedding material in front of, and the sides and the bottom of where the recoil lug fits into the compound. The only place the lug needs...

    Chamber sealers

Been on the fence to long. I decided to take a chance on the Vevor DZ-260A. I am a little concerned about the lack of customer support but in the end it won out for several reasons: Price: $270 shipped to Alaska on Amazon. Compared to almost $1,100 for the VacMaster 230 I added the 4 year...

    Elk brats that aren’t dry?

Pork butts average 30% fat. I use butts for breakfast sausage. When I fry up a patty you can barely see a trace a fat in the skillet. I can't imagine making sausage with less than 30% fat. You have plenty of dry spices absorbing moisture and fat within the sausage. Burger on the other hand, you...

If you had to drop 30lbs and couldn’t workout???

When trying to lose weight exercise can be a double edged sword. The fact exercise burns calories absolutely helps to lose weight but this also comes at a cost of an increase in appetite that at times can be difficult to manage. Pick what works best for you. Don't try to rush any weight loss...

    Future Alaska moose trip…..

Another thought. If you are driving up and bringing your own boats they still need to be flown into the hunt area. Flying in gear is expensive. What type of boats are you thinking of bringing up? As others mentioned, you simply can not plan on firm fly in and pick up dates, period. I have been...

    Chamber sealers

Been all over the map trying to decide which brand to go with. I absolutely want a model with a oil pump and the Vevor has a great price but after the sale service basically doesn't exist. The price makes its tempting but it could still turn into a pricy paperweight. The JVR 110 seems nice but...
