Tikka Left Handed 223's - what scope?

I'll most likely use something in the 4-16 range. The main reason I am buying this rifle is for killing wolves or coyotes.

    Chamber vacuum sealer

Been using my Vevor 260 since salmon season is upon us. It works like a champ. Very happy with my decision to purchase it. I especially like the lighter weight of the unit as it is easier to move around. The vacuum and large seal it puts on the bags is impressive. As of now, am glad I went with...

    Kodiak island blacktail

Son drew a elf tag for Afognak and plans on hunting mid October. He is taking a friend more physically capable of me to do the elk portion of the hunt. It will be my first time on Afognak. I have about 10 Kodiak hunts and 2 Montague hunts under my belt. Son is getting together two electric...

Alaska winter - we are ready for you!

I already own a 10x10 model of this tent. Son was drawn for a elk hunt on Afognak Island and is taking a friend so that means three of us sleeping in the same tent. With cots and wood stove it can get crowded so decided to spring for this model...

    Shipping Extortion

If you buy an item from anyone it is the buyers responsibility to deliver it to you. Once it arrives in good condition on your front porch they meet their responsibility. If the package is lost or damaged in transit it is on the buyer, period.

Let’s hear everyone’s top pick for states or provinces to live for big game hunting opportunities

The hunting opportunities in Alaska are awesome. But in general they don't come cheap and we either spend plenty of money on our toys or in transport fees to get to prime areas. I never got into planes but it isn't uncommon for a sportsman to own a couple of ATV's, a few boats, and numerous...

Dall sheep 1 person tent recommendations

You have my curiosity, why do you need to supply you own tent if you hired a guide?

If you had to drop 30lbs and couldn’t workout???

I'll toss my 2 cents in. I am 72 and lost the same 25 pounds 20 times in my life. Previously I always thought exercise was the key to losing weight. I'm here to tell you that for some people that simply isn't true. Been consulting with a dietitian every few months and at the beginning (Nov 24)...

    Cabelaa vs Lem grinder

Did own a Cabelas 3/4 hp for several years, zero issues. Decided to upgrade to the 1.5 hp model and went with LEM because they will be here when I croak and my son gets the grinder. I was interested in the MEAT grinder. But they wouldn't answer any of my emails prior to buying so they didn't get...

Model 70 FWT Compact: 7mm-08 or 6.5 Creedmoor?

It wouldn’t make any sense for me to mention what the load was. We hunted whitetails on our property and sighted in for 50 yards. I didn’t do a lot of experimenting with it. Just picked a load out of a Hornady manual and went with it.

Model 70 FWT Compact: 7mm-08 or 6.5 Creedmoor?

My wife has the Win 70 compact in 7mm/08 and it is her favorite rifle. Or I should say was her favorite rifle when we lived in Tennessee. I also purchased her a Tikka 6.5 CM and put it in a correct LOP McMillan stock and had the barrel cut down to 20 inches for rainy day hunting. She still...

Cracked rifle stock. Repair or replace

I would use a slow setting epoxy. Before applying it try to open the crack. Apply some epoxy. Then use a blow dryer on high heat to try to force some of the epoxy deeper into the crack. Repeat as needed. Once the crack is filled wrap the stock with black electricians tape and allow the epoxy to...

    Long distance solo packouts

The calorie burn alone will be tremendous meaning you have to carry more food than you thought, like 5-7,000 calories a day. Another concern will be how long will the meat last confined in the pack ? Wish you luck in this adventure but a 20 mile hike with a 120 pound pack? That’s tough.

    Blaser R8 Ultimate w/ATZL Trigger

That sucks. Also shows a lack of QC as they should of tested it in house on a R8 platform for function before sending it out.

    Moose Hunt Cartridge and Bullet

I would bet a years income more moose in Alaska were killed with 30-30's and 30-06's than all other cartridges put together. Pound for pound they seem to be one of the easier animals to kill. Hit them in the vitals and usually within 30-45 seconds they crash over. They rarely travel very far...
