I've used my jet stream exclusively in SE AK as a rain / wind hard shell. Never had an issue. Nice to have a tough shell that will handle the abuse. I don't have any experience with dew point or downpour jackets. If you have that many jackets to choose go with what works best for ya.

I'm all about some really good coffee, but in the backcountry I stick with Bucks via. It's too easy and delicious to pass up and you don't need any extra "gear" to brew a nice hot or cold cup, whenever. Just keeping' it simple.
