I looked around at insulated pads quite a bit prior to last fall’s October rifle season. The weather ended up being stupid warm and dry, but from a pure comfort perspective my ZenBivy ultralight is hands down the most comfortable pad I have ever slept on.
Code issues aside... You'll need a neutral for that 120v receptacle. So unless you have an unused one on that 240v circuit (sometimes guys run 12-3 w/ ground and just cap the unused 3rd wire), you'll need to run wire back to the panel. At that point, you might as well run a fresh 12-2 120v home...
I got a chuckle when hearing the fellow in the video note that Sportsman's Warehouse only exists today due to the FTC stepping in and blocking Bass Pro from acquiring them. A thing of the past soon enough...
Cabela's/Bass Pro has totally become the Walmart of hunting/fishing. Every now and...
I am also not an arborist... but have planted/grown/tended/pruned/logged lots of trees. I would cut off all the dead now--assuming you can do that yourself and not pay someone. See if they come back after a year or two. Occasional deep watering will help establish new root systems--and remember...
I think it is a huge loss that vocational classes are pretty much gone. But it's just economics in our age of no one wanting to pay for anything (except their own toys and lattes). School budgets continue to shrink, and most districts just can't afford the tools, equipment, and insurance to...
The notion that camouflage has any legitimate hunting purpose is a big pet peeve around here.
If you aren't wearing solids... you can't possibly kill anything.
^^^ yep.
I do find that I need to "re-charge" my milkweed after a year or two... the strands get brittle and break down. But that's easily done in August before I head out.
I also question the logic of adding another device that needs electrical charging and can break....
PRP
Platelet Rich Plasma injection.
They take some of your blood, spin it in a centrifuge, and then inject the platelets (along with various growth factors and other good stuff your own body made) back into the tendon.
It hurt like hell for a few days... but in a week it was like the tennis...
This is a dumbsh*t piece of legislation. I get that we all want fewer school and church shootings... but this is just dumb.
It's like mandating that cars can't be easily refueled because sometimes people are killed by cars.
Side sleeper mostly.
I have used lots of different pads over the last 40 years, but in terms of modern, lightweight inflatable pads: Big Agnes AXL Insulated, Sea to Summit Ultralight Insulated.
I also tried the NEMO Tensor Extreme Conditions Ultralight and the Therm-a-Rest Neoair XTherm NXT...
The 9/11 memorial at the Pentagon is really well done. My wife's family lost friends who were on that plane. It's really powerful. Obviously, kind of a buzz kill.
I went with the ZenBivy Flex Air and it was by far the most comfortable backpacking pad I’ve ever slept on. Easily rivaled a lot of actual bed mattresses! I can’t speak to warmth as it was stupid warm at 11,000’ in mid October in Colorado… nor can I (yet) speak to durability since we were only...
Oh, and as long as your stove has a spark screen you are allowed to use it (unless they amp up restrictions). Most backpacking stoves have the screen between the stove and the pipe…
