I ordered a Boonie this year, really liking it so far. Will say the pin brightness in mine does leave something to be desired in more low light. But under normal daylight shooting it hasn't been an issue.
Wanting to bring this back up. Finally in a place where I got the OK from the boss lady to start looking for a pup. Definitely will be an inside dog with a little kiddo. But we are pretty active people (I go for runs everyday). Lots of good information in the thread, so thank you to everybody...
Savage 110 Ultralite in 7mm PRC. I’ve dropped it into a Stockys VG2 carbon fiber stock and still have original if wanted. Has Salmon River Solutions 3 port self timing brake as well as Talon grip installed on palm swell. Recoil is fairly minimal. Has exactly 123 rounds down the tube and is a...
Sweet. The Evolution Hyde was one on my shortlist. Current set up is 420 gr arrow going about 285. I lost the last bull I shot due to what I think was a liver hit at last light. Had piles of blood where he was standing but never did recover him. Was shooting a slicktrick viper trick at the time...
Out of my own curiosity for this year, what mechanicals are you liking for elk? I was going to have a few in my quiver this fall for an elk hunt. Will probably be shooting QAD Exodus first, but for a backup or if I have a bull come in close in the treestand I may try out a mechanical.
I have. A good friend of mine has a pair that we hunt pheasants with every year. Little bird finding machines and very impressive. I've just settled on wanting more of a pointing breed. But very handsome dogs.
I'm looking to get my first bird dog/pup. I grew up with GSP and labs my whole childhood and loved hunting behind them as upland game dogs. With getting a new pup I want to transition from doing less waterfowl and focusing a little more upland game. I've looked into a GSP but am highly...
How did you go about adding texture? Mine is suppose to ship in a couple weeks but I've read they can be a little slick from stocky's. I thought about adding any sorta spray or grip texures.
My family and myself have quite a few of the 555e models, mostly all in 20 ga and have no issues so far. Each of them have hundreds of rounds and work flawlessly. Hard to beat at the price point. I will say I had a 12 ga model and sold it due to the harshness of recoil. Fairly light gun in a 12...
@Bear Lake Hunter Good to hear and good for you guys! I'd love to see some pictures if you guys have some. If I end up pulling the tag I'll reach out and try and pick your brain a little bit. You guys hunt over bait or do the spot and stalk?
@Bear Lake Hunter @Sheep_chaser Any report on how you guys did? Looking to pull that same tag this year. Curious how you guys ended up and a hunt report on whether the tag is worth burning points on.
Anybody have any experience in unit 67? My family has been traveling to northern Idaho for years and hunting over bait but i've been wanting to do some spot and stalk and possibly something a little closer to home. I've also been looking at the surrounding units 66, 66a. I see that the harvest...
Just wondering if anybody on here has had success in the early spring hunt doing spot and stock in the limited entry units. Finally have enough points to considering pulling a tag. I've hunted and taken a lot of bears in Idaho over bait so doing the summer hunt doesn't intrigue me too much. I've...
Thanks guys for the recommendation. I think imma snag the trijicon Credo HX from eurooptic this week. $700 for the 4-16x50 is pretty hard to beat. I have been reading that some people don't like how thin the reticle is in them. Anybody have a problem with that?
Hey everybody,
Currently in between riflescopes and having a hard time deciding which one I want to get. Each scope is right about that $1000 mark and have a decent reputation. Curious to hear your thoughts and if any of you have experience with one of these scopes. Mounting it on a 6.5 prc...
