All this will do long term is push Hunter effort into adjacent units and continue this pattern of more restrictions. In the name of opportunity and idahos hatred of draw hunts, we’ll all be hunting with spears and flintlocks before we know it.
I want to hunt with my nr friends and family, but I’m also too selfish to go hunt some an overcrowded unit or a place I don’t know with them.
Draw tags here are hard to get because there isn’t many of them and in the spirit of not having draw tags we’ll all be hunting with sling shots and long...
Absolutely was if you actually had a unit you wanted to hunt, I waited in line a few times to get elk tags in a not particularly popular capped unit for my nr buddies, never once got it but it’s where our resident group hunts. Deer tags disappear in popular units in minutes.

It’s f’n retarded is what it is.
Take 3 days off work on a hope and a prayer.
The same people that advocate for bonus points being unfair somehow think this is a good way to do it? I couldn’t think of a more fd up way to do it short of having a monkey wandering around handing out tags.
I’ll tell my buddies from Indiana to fly on out, hope they get a good spot in line, and a clerk who knows his stuff..

Let’s be realistic unless you have a buddy to pick it up for you or you can take a couple days off and travel to Idaho, your chances are shit. Even if you travel here it’s still not guaranteed. There’s guides buying 20+ tags a year from their buddies that get first dibs on allot of them, then...
You’ll be able to go, the dads are functionally worthless to a new born the first 90 days. It’s about mom and diaper changes..

It’d make it worse not better, az for example, you’re probably never going you draw a unit 9 early rifle, but as a nr there’s several good hunts you can do with 6-12 points, plus there’s always the random portion which I’ve gotten drawn in.

Hybrid is probably the best option going forward to encourage new participants and yet still reward those that have put in the time.
The constraining factor will always be tag numbers.
