    Pack cover or no?

Headed to Alaska this August to be an observer on my buddies sheep hunt. I’ve got the Stone Glacier Sky 5900. Basic question, should I bring a rain pack cover, or is the bag waterproof enough? I plan on having my gear organized in the pack with sea to summit ultra sil bags. In the past I’ve had...

    WTS Leupold SX-5 Santiam HD - $1,250

I’ve had it out of the box and used in my backyard. Scope is flawless and works perfectly. It’s the straight eyepiece 27-55x80. I’ve decided to go with binoculars. Price includes shipping to lower 48 and I can do PayPal or Venmo.

    Shooting stick/trekking pole

I’ve used trigger sticks and they’re pretty awesome. I also have a field optics tripod where the poles unscrew and are tracking poles and also have a v notch attachment so it can be a shooting stick. Most important is to practice with it so you know what to expect.

Anyone Ever Have to Shoot Opposite Handed?

You can do it. Just practice. I wouldn’t shoot any game animal opposite handed until Ive gotten comfortable doing it. Shooting is mostly mental, so if you’re mentally there you’ll be fine.

    food storage in bear country

Sleeping on your food…………sounds similar to licking an electrical outlet. Sure you can do it, but it might get you one of these times. Hang it in a tree.

    Video storage

Is anyone using a hard drive hooked up to their router at home for their own private cloud? I’m considering this for my own storage needs. Between photos and video I am quickly exceeding the capacity of my hard drive. Curious what works.

Fujifilm X-T4 vs X-S10 - how important is weatherproofing

In the 2 decades I’ve been doing stuff outdoors (from camping to duck hunting to Alaska to fishing to hunting to winter sports) I’ve never once taken any extra precautions to protect my camera gear beyond a normal camera bag. If the camera isn’t out, you won’t take the shot. It’s a tool. Would...

    Point and Shoot Cameras

The DCB isn’t terrible. I have one, slick part is it can swing up out of the way. So once it is set up it stays that way.

    October Mule Deer Montana

Me and my buddy are doing a southeast Montana mule deer hunt the last 2 weeks of October. I’m curious on different strategies to find bucks, I’m of the opinion this is a tough time of year. Our current plan is to maximize morning and evening hunts as that appears to be the highest movement...

    Sheep Show

Does anyone have recommendations on which entry to purchase? The full entry is $550ish and get you access to everything or you can purchase things Al a cart. Just wondering from those who have been if the full entry is the way to go, or if the auction nights aren’t worth it? Are the seminars...

I have a few specific questions on a POW Blacktail hunt.

Anyone have advice for cape care while on POW island. Should we pack salt (if so, how much salt)? Are there other techniques out there?
