    Kuiu Axis vs Encounter

To be determined but here are my initial thoughts. As you transition to quieter material it's more soft and doesn't have as hard of a face as their Axis pant for example. So there's a tradeoff in silence for durability. I wouldn't go regularly busting through brush in them but they are more...

    Proximity vs Stratus jacket

Just gonna start by recapping what Nick said, and they are 2 different jackets as the Proximity is insulated and the Stratus is not. Both are nice pieces. The Stratus is pretty versatile because it can cover a lot of temperature range depending on how you layer. The Proximity is pretty...

    Kuiu Axis vs Encounter

I currently own the Axis and Encounter pants. I ran the Axis pant in the past and I will be running the Encounters this year. I don't have the Encounter jacket yet so I will talk about the pants. The pants have similar wind resistance with a slight edge to the Encounter mainly because the...

    Kuiu Sizing

We all have are own body type and for some of us Kuiu will fit great and for some First lite may fit better. I'm 5'10 185lbs. I wear relaxed fit wrangler jeans size 34. I have the attacks, guides, axis, encounter, and Kutanas, and they all fit good in 34. The guide and encounter have a little...

    Full zip midlayer

Full zip is the way to go. I have the 240 peloton and a 280 strongfleece. I'm guessing the 275 replaced the 280 recently. I prefer the 240. It's one of my favorite pieces. It has very good wind resistance. It will layer over the 200. The sleeves on my strongfleece are tight on the forearms and...

    Mid-Season Whitetail Outerlayer

I also hunt NY. The Fanatic is too warm and bulky for the conditions you described. If you don't have a vest I would definitely get one. Some have mentioned one paired with the Stratus, that's a great option. You have so much more freedom of movement with a vest on. For the jackets you...

Best mid layer pant. Puffy or other

I would check out Kenai pant from Kuiu. I have the furnace pant. The are very warm. It would have to be below 20° for me to rock this combo of the the Furnace, Kenai, and insulated bibs.

    Kuiu axis vs guide pant

I have both the guide and the axis pant. I'm 5"10 185lbs. I wear size 34 in Kuiu pants and also size 34 in wrangler jeans. The axis is definitely more wind resistant which will help if you're stationary in a stand. You will get some air blown in if your zippered pockets are open. The water proof...

Kuiu Zipoff Base Layers.. Which One?

I agree with Chris. I prefer merino next to skin and really only a thin layer is necessary. The merino will regulate body temp and the synthetic will pull moisture away. I currently have the 145 but am looking to pick up a pair of the 120s. I prefer the full length but I also prefer a 6" boot...

    Kuiu layering question

I have both the 240 Peloton and the 260 Strongfleece. I prefer the 240 for its wind resistance. Mine is quiet enough to bow hunt out of. It does have some mileage on it so could be the reason for it being quiet enough. The Wind Pro is more quiet and has great wind resistance but if I was to...

Kuiu Peloton 200 compared to 97

I also have both the 97 and the 200, in addition to the 240. They are all great. I'd say the 200 thickness is similar to your basic Under Armour sweatshirt. The 200 layers well over the 97.
