I have been running the Alpha 10 for the past several months on both my GSP's in both training and hunting scenarios. Overall, I am fairly pleased. It has taken some getting used to, but it's pretty easy. Likes: compact, GPS helps you keep tabs on your dogs in heavy cover. Cons: A little slow...
I love my 20 gauges. They are wonderful to upland hunt with, especially when you're on a really long walk. However, if I were to own 1 multipurpose shotgun, it would be a 12 gauge, no questions asked.
Hey guys. I've been running a DT e-collar on my GSP for the past 6 years will relatively few issues. However, I have now added a puppy to the mix and am looking to making the upgrade to a Garmin multi-dog track/train system. I'm familiar with the GPS functionality, as this is Garmin's bread and...
My elk this year fell over dead where she stood after getting served some medicine from my Tikka 308. 168grain Federal Premium Berger HH dropped her where she stood at 185yrds and a 20mph crosswind. I would not hesitate to shoot any elk inside 500 yards with it.
CZ Upland Ultralight 20ga is a wonderful gun. I've had nothing but success with it thus far.
As my universal multitasker shotgun, I grab my Browning Maxus 12ga. I've knocked down quail, pheasant, dove, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, and I don't know what else with that thing. Kills em dead.
For quail, I like #7.5 shot, 1oz loads in 20ga. For whatever reason, 1oz loads are harder to find, but I much prefer them. As for Chokes, IC & Modified paired together if I'm shooting an over-under. If I'm shooting a semi-auto, I almost always run an IC for most everything. I'll go to a modified...
Quail guts stink. Wash throughly and you should be fine. If need be, brine in salt water over night. Or, before cooking, marinade in buttermilk with salt. Makes for dang good tasting quail. Congrats on the success!
Hey guys,
