I just put a new 8 twist 700 223 together also. The rifle shoots great and I'm sure yours will too. My own personal experience trumps someone's opinion on the internet.
I already had the adl stock so I bought a new 223 with a 1-8 twist and had it cut to 20 inches. It's my new favorite rifle to shoot. Shoots 68 grain hornady bthp with varget pretty good.
Thanks, I don't know if you will see a benefit from truing. I do recommend Greg at Southern Precision Rifles and Tooter at Meredith Rifles for any work that you need done.
I have thousands of rounds through direct thread suppressors and never had an issue. My Omega has many ten round strings through it from match shooting and the blast baffle looks great. I have never had one come loose either. I use thread adapters to go from 1/2-28 to 5/8-24 and just leave them...
It is 8.3 ounces including the direct thread adapter. The front brake weighed 1.1 ounce. You could replace it with a ti one and be under 8 ounces total.
@Tod osier
My Evo weighs 13.5 ounces with the included 5/8-24 adapter vs 8.3 ounces for the scythe. I like my Evo and Omega but the scythe is half the weight of my Omega.
