Tall and skinny outdoor pants: 28x34

Man he sounds like he’s built like I was. It’s tough to find pants to fit us tall skinny guys, but we do have more choices now than 20 years ago when I was looking. Check out Fjallraven, the European sizes are more slim fit and they have at least one model that comes un hemmed around 36” (I...

    Question for the string makers

I don’t make my own strings but the strings I buy have .021 and have a perfect fit for the Bohning classic nocks on wood arrows.

    Hill Style/ASL Longbows Anyone?

I didn’t have good luck with sprays either. But I’ve had good luck with the dip tubes using both True North and Minwax. I like the True north better because it dries much quicker and doesn’t have much of a smell

    Best instant coffee packets

I haven’t tried a ton of them, but Cafe Bustelo Mexican espresso is pretty good and easy to find. And I’m not supporting Starbucks

    Hill Style/ASL Longbows Anyone?

You should pull the trigger—I don’t think Dan makes many of these. I have a 66” 47lb that is a really god shooter

    Tennessee

If you are going without dogs, my suggestion would be early season. Both deer and bears start to get scarce once the dogs start running them.

    Tennessee

I’m in E TN, about 30 minutes from both NC and VA. Wrench is correct, there are very few of us who try it without dogs. Very challenging hunt, but it can be done. Snakeman —I don’t think they update the seasons until June or July.

Leather Lined boots/ Hanwag Yukons- anyone?

I’ve had a pair of Tibets for over 6 years. I’ve never treated the interior lining and there are not even any wear marks, let alone breakdown.

Leather Lined boots/ Hanwag Yukons- anyone?

I have 2 pairs of Lowa leather lined boots (no GTX). I prefer them 90% of the time where I hunt/hike (Appalachian Mountains) because they breathe better, and maybe it’s in my head, but they just feel more comfortable to me than the GTX boots. I’ve been through many rainshowers and quick stream...

    Boots for Summer?

I really like leather lined boots for warm weather because they just seem to breathe better than GTX boots. They are waterproof enough for me where I hunt/hike in the Appalachians. There don’t seem to be a ton of options though. I have 2 pairs of Lowas that I really like—one is going on 5...

Sitka Fanatic Vest vs Code of Silence Zone 7 Versa Vest

I’m in NE TN, so probably similar weather to where you are. Most of my hunting is 2500-4500 ‘ elevation, so we get big temperature swings and often a lot of wind. I have the Fanatic vest and think it’s awesome, but it doesn’t get worn a whole lot. It’s a little bulky and warm for most of our...
