    Finally drew a tag

I drew a tag for the snake river unit Oregon. I've read it's super steep, rocky and dry. Anyone else care to shed some light on eastern Oregon. Thanks in advance. Adam

    Eastern oregon elk hunting

I'm in the military and so far i've only hunted saddle mountain during the early bow season. A couple of locals have told me I won't be here long enough to draw for a really good unit so I stick with the general archery.

    Diy otc archery elk

I live and chase elk in Oregon. While Oregon is not as widely publicized as other states are far as huge bulls we have good numbers and over the counter tags are fairly easy to come by. I've had good success in my 2 years here and i'd never hunted elk before.

I just finished up a 10 day elk hunting and tried 1 a day, worked for 2 days. I'm 6'1 215 and had to eat 2 a day just to keep my energy level, was also hiking 10 plus miles a day.

    New to the West Coast

So I just moved to Oregon and bow season is in full swing. I've managed to call in a few elk but i'd also like a shot at a blacktail buck. The only real problem is all my calls are for whitetail, will they work for blacktails. And if so any tips on calling blacktails.
