I picked up hunting at an early age of 5 while living in VT, as well as upstate NY. Moved to Pennsylvania early in my teens, and continued hunting local game, and picking up trapping as well. Moved to Ohio where my hunting slowed quite a bit while working to support my family. Eventually did a DIY caribou hunt in 2006 to the now endangered George River herd of Quebec. At age 50 I decided I wasn't waiting any longer, and started elk hunting solo in Colorado which in 8 seasons has netted me one cow elk, and a pair of injured knees, but I've met some great people along the way. I've decided that I probably have one great hunt left before just going back to plain old public land whitetail until I'm done hunting. I'm saving every dime for Newfoundland moose in 2025.
