T3x Lite vs Savage Lightweight Storm

I owned an early kimber hunter in 6.5.... the one good thing is that it made my tikka feel like an expensive custom rifle.

T3x Lite vs Savage Lightweight Storm

I have had a few Savages and Tikkas over the years. For pure target shooting rig I would go Savage. For hunting Tikka hands down. Savage: pros - easy to rebarrel if you want later - everyone has been very accurate - true short action cons - all mine rusted very easily, even the "stainless"...

    Sheep rifle scope

Between your choices I would go NXS, bomb proof, you slip or fall and you dont worry about it. Plus you dont need a lot of light transmission for sheep.

    Camera for Dall Sheep hunt

side note for a carrying system I use a peak design clip on my backpack shoulder strap. I take a lot more pics now and its always there instead of digging through your bag for your camera. https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/clips/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0e-wpb_K_AIVWQ2tBh1oXQ8DEAAYASAAEgJADPD_BwE#

Canceling a bighorn hunt in Alberta

Unfortunately there is pressure to fill your tag on all sides. Outfitters who have higher success rates get more clients, clients who pay the money don’t want to go home empty handed, even residents face peer pressure to fill tags. Its easy to sit here and say let the squeekers walk, its...

    Durable trekking pole

I have a set of Black Diamond z carbons. (they have changed them up slightly now) but my pair has lasted 5 years now in the rock and shale. The metal tips are worn and round, I just recently super glued an insert back in this year, but they have hundreds of hard miles on them. I slipped with a...

    2022 Sheep Harvest Photos

Thanks, It really meant a lot to me when I realized that I had spent a few days taking photos of him before. Actually in one set of pictures he is within 100 yards of where I took him. He was legal here by 3 inches on his long side and ¼” on his short, and he had broomed off his long a tiny...

    2022 Sheep Harvest Photos

After a lot of years solo hunting I finally got my first ram this year. I passed on a squeeker early on in the season at 15 yards, and connected with this guy the last day of the season. This season alone I hunted 23 days, hiked 205 km (127 miles), and climbed 16 km (52,493 feet) vertical...

The 1 Thing You Learned- ANTELOPE

Dont hunt elk the week before then try to guess the range on antelope without a rangefinder. I Flung an arrow over the back of my target buck at 60 yards, turns out he was 20 yards.... came in so fast I didnt have time to range and I forgot how small they are because of elk hunting the week before.

New Argali Lightweight Tent Line **Review Added 7/10/22**

I noticed these dont have sod skirts on them. What was the reasoning for not including that? And how was the wind coming through the sides on these? I am very very close to getting one, but have only used ones with sod skirts before.

    Long Range Gear

What is the longest range you have access to? Are you new to shooting sports or just this rifle/scope set up for you? If new then find a place sight your scope in at 100. Practice, practice, practice. Slowly move out further and further and mark down your actual drops you have. Just dont think...

How warm is floorless vs 4 season tent

I simply did it because the door to a warm shower was 20 feet away at the time, and I wanted the peace of mind for when I am out in the back country if something blows in. As for running the stove all night it was doable, but not ideal. It would die out on me and the cold would wake me up. It...

Which stove is right for me?

Interesting... I used mine at -40, albeit just testing for a night in the backyard. I kept the fire going all night and it's still exactly the shape it was to begin with.
