Certainly not legal advice. I don't think you thought it was though. My point for the more obtuse of you is, even if it's legal, I wouldn't expect anyone in local government to actually tell you it's legal. You'll have to do the appropriate research and have the cajones to take a risk.
I would 100% do it, but drop off as mentioned.
Also, when you call the people who should know, it is incredibly easy to get a no, and almost impossible to get a yes. They will almost never tell you yes, even if they should.
A few days after Christmas we watched a Missouri muzzleloader hunter flip his canoe in a riffle. They were camped around the bend from us. It is my perspective that folks are doing this pretty regularly.
I have never canoe hunted but have done tons of river canoeing in the Ozarks, including with two little kids, and even in the winter months. I tend to pack way too much because I think I can. And then you have to prepare to flip, so all or most your gear goes in dry bags, and I lose track of...
I had the Vortex Razor and it failed on me in the field. Had it fixed and sold it and bought the Kowa.
The Vortex did it's job I suppose, until it broke. Optically it was fine for the price. I'm surprise that little Maven isn't on your list.
On an elk hunt in CO a couple years ago we glassed a lot of alpine country (for elk) and only turned up a few does deer wise. Once we dropped lower into the timber we started bumping quite a few velvet bucks. Probably could have killed a 160 class buck if I had a tag. I've been told in that...
Man I think the exact opposite: that a mechanical will bail you out of bad shot more times than not. I've recovered animals shot in the throat and the guts with mechanicals. I believe I've mortally wounded two that I never recovered, one fixed and one mechanical. I think I would have found...
There are several threads on this already. Look below at the "Similar threads" section.
I've killed everything I've hit with one (the 1.5"), including 3 elk, a mule deer, and a whitetail. The 3 elk and mule deer were at ranges 8 to 63 yards, and they all went about 100 yards before dying...
I do a three stage estimate. First, OMFG he’s huge!!! Then, after some time, he’s pretty good, not as big as I thought, and I dial him back (to reality). Then, I get insecure, and I think about how people over estimate animals, and I penalize him below his actual score.
My 20ga double barrel for some reason fired both barrels when my son shot his bird at 6 yards. Nearly cut his head in two, but he did flop around for a bit. I buy the Herter's cheapies.
