What??! You bought a piece of equipment and didn't really use it? Never heard of such a thing! 🤣
Yah, for sure you cannot argue the convenience of the phone adapter setups. Thanks for the reply!
Anybody used Kowa's, or another manufacturer's (Hawke has a similar setup) DSLR/Mirrorless, adapter systems? The convenience of smartphones to pop on/off a spotter to capture photo and video is hard to argue with but I'm not super happy with the image quality - particularly with photos. Have...
I've been a big fan of the Xero Ridgeways - 12mm stack but still very flexible, good ground feel. I have mainly used mine for training/rucking on established trails - most actually quite rocky. I wore them several times scouting for sheep in about as rocky terrain as it gets and it wasn't the...
Awww, gotcha. I was thinking you had set up a camera on the bank that you were either self-triggering/time-lapsing/video'ing, plus rowing a boat and doing who knows what else all at the same time! 😂
So like a 360 GoPro cam on a canoe-mounted inivisi-selfie stick setup - then screen grab a photo?
Congrats man! Really awesome solo adventure and sweet shot! As a photog nerd, I've pondered the various solo setups/timers/remote triggers/vid screen grab/etc. and I'm wondering how you pulled off that shot? As a guy with a gazillion self-timer photo fails, I would have worn myself out and...
Straight Leupold Wind River Sequoia Spotting Scope. 15-45x60. Great shape. Only ever used in vehicle on window mount. Includes objective and ocular caps, soft case, hard case (handle broken), tripod, Vanguard window mount, case keys, and original registration/instructions.
Ditto the poncho! With other rain gear I was either wet from the rain or wet from sweat. The poncho really seems to hit that magic spot of waterproof and breathable. 👍. I use the Altus poncho - pondered pairing with chaps but it's long enough waterproof gaiters seem to be sufficient.
Nope, no alterations necessary, the AA-98 stock and mag works perfect with my 25-06 so I would imagine it would work well with a 6.5-06 which splits the difference between the 30-06 its designed for.
That said, a quick Google shows COAL for 6.5-06 as 3.44". COAL for 30-06 is 3.34". I know...
I turned 60 in December - I'm focusing on the simple things now that might keep me at least slightly above useless around camp...like maybe if I can at least shuffle down to get a couple bags of water from the creek the young whippersnappers I hunt with will still invite me 😉
Tomorrow on the...
Anyone try these? They "look" exactly like what I've been after...reasonably minimal to allow feet and ankles to do their thing but robust enough to actually protect themselves from the rocks, cactus, etc. If they had them in my Sasquatch 14 I would be guinea pig'n 'em for sure.
