I have really enjoyed watching the thermal drone deer recoveries on YT. I am a proficient tracker, and believe that tracking and recoveries to be a strong suit of my hunting, but I can definitely see the benefit of a thermal drone for those poor hit scenarios.
Has anyone on here bought one...
I didn't realize I was in a courtroom and you were the prosecuting attorney. I'm not going to take the time to type out an in-depth post of talks with game wardens on various conflicting informational issues. I am not sure why you seem bent on taking aim at me and being combative, but I am not...
I didn't read through all the replies, but I really like my Sig P365. I previously owned a Hellcat, but it was very snappy to shoot. The Sig is much smoother shooting (to me anyway) and it is compact and lightweight. Of course the Glock 17 is hard to beat if you don't mind a full size. I also...
I have heard and seen instances where they take something that is ambiguous and will either write a citation based on their interpretation, or give out guidance that is their interpretation of a rule, but yet talk to a different game warden and you’ll get a completely different take on it.
No one has probably ever pushed it too hard and it hasn't went all the way up the courts. It seems as though often the game wardens make it up as they go along, and go based off of their own interpretations, not hard facts. Nowadays it's the kings land, the kings deer, and the kings rules, but...
Years ago I had a whitetail pedestal I mounted to the wall. I used a small half log with a hole drilled in the top for the pedestal post, and then screwed a small 2x4 in the back with enough meat overlapping the top and bottom of the log to screw into the wall stud. Worked pretty good!
On the day my son was born, my wife had some complications and I had spent the whole night and most of the day in the hospital with her. She was heavily medicated and sleeping. The property I turkey hunted was almost directly across the street from the hospital. When she was awoke for a little...
This past season my daughter Grace wasn't able to get out much, but the final week of season, with basketball winding down, she opted to go with me on a pretty blustery day with the wind howling and very cold temps. We spent a few hours looking before we found a group of deer staged up in a...
Out of my 3 kids, I always thought my daughter Grace would be the least likely to really enjoy hunting. Gracie is a very sweet, gentle, kind, and deep thinking girl, and even though I exposed her to hunting at a young age, I always figured it wasn't going to be part of her personality. Turns out...
I guess is with being new to archery, you’ll just work through a few kinks like this and you’ll see those close-up groups shrink substantially overtime. Just stay with it, and like anything consistency is key. To be honest with you I rarely shoot at 20 and 30 anymore. Most of my time is 40 to...
Could it be that you're concentrating a bit more and following through a little better at 60 due to the need to be more precise? Sometimes I think the close shots are "gimmes" in our mind so we don't quite follow the fundamentals as closely.
