That does suck for sure. I think a lot of the younger generation customer service/marketing people are hired for their social media prowess. While that is important, they tend to ignore the less modern versions of communication like voice and email. They just want to "talk" through an app...
I have been using my Jolene S on a whole bunch of different guns. I have several hundred rounds through it on my target 6.5CM and it has been is flawless. I even put it on an AR15 with a DD 1/2x28 hub. It was good too.
My Jolene S now primarily resides on my 300BO and with subsonic ammo, it...
My Rem 700 Varmint in 6.5 CM wears a Jolene S at the end if its 26” Sendero contour barrel. I get mirage after 4th or 5th shot on my Athlon Ares at 30x. Since putting on a Cole Tac HTP cover, I have gone as many as 39 shots without mirage. Don’t sweat the issue. Just buy a cover.
I have both and would agree. About the only difference is the availability of factory ammo. The 6.5CM has more and better selection of bullets. If handloading, it really does not matter but I personally would go with the 7mm-08.
My brother has a ‘22 with 20K and it has had zero issues. My ‘18 has 114K and it has been routine maintenance only plus a set of tires. I would not hesitate to get a Gen3 if mine was totaled.
One more small thing. Both my Gen 1 Tundra trucks had a creaky dash. It was worse in the winter. Those things can drive me nuts. My solution was to buy 1/2" Caulk Saver at Home Depot and stuff it up under the dash by the windshield. Use a wooden spatula to get it tucked in nicely. It worked...
I had a 2001 that I ran for 380,000 miles before my son decided to hit a jersey wall with it. Next up was a 2005 that died at 275,000 because another driver decided her phone conversation was more important than the red traffic light in front of her. The weak links in these trucks are not too...
Jolene S right now but adding a OCL Hydrogen K for everything under 30 cal Diligent DTF STi for my 338Fed. Everything is ordered, I just need them to be made!
I have used all the normal stuff and Lapua as well. I have had good success with Sig, Norma, Hornady and of course Lapua for 1000yd shooting. Sig is a real sleeper IMO. I would not recommend any others for long range work. For hunting applications though, you can add Starline and RP into...
If I were in your shoes and you liked the Vortex DB, I would say the Athlon Helos BTR Gen II in 2-12 would be a perfect scope for that use. It is far better glass. Its reticle is great for point and shoot at close up yet can use the reticle or dial for distance. They are tough too.
